The Opportunity

We are looking for a Corporate Tax Manager to join our expanding Thames Valley tax team.

This is an exciting time to join us. Since March 2020, the team has experienced a 66% increase in headcount, and we have recently moved into larger, modern offices to support our continued growth. With further expansion planned, this role offers strong natural progression opportunities and real scope to shape your career.

This position could be ideal for:

  • An Assistant Manager ready to step into a broader leadership role

  • An experienced Manager seeking a fresh challenge with clear advancement potential

You will work closely with tax partners on both UK and international project-based assignments, while also taking ownership of substantial and often complex compliance work across a varied client portfolio.


What You’ll Be Doing

Advisory and Technical Work

  • Lead and support UK and cross-border corporate tax advisory projects

  • Work alongside tax partners on a range of strategic client matters

  • Contribute to projects such as:

  • Group restructures

  • Interest deductibility reviews

  • Capital allowances projects

  • HMRC enquiries and correspondence

Compliance Oversight

  • Manage and review complex corporate tax compliance work

  • Oversee tax matters for a diverse portfolio, including:

  • Owner-managed businesses

  • Large corporate groups

  • Listed companies

  • Ensure work is delivered accurately, efficiently, and to a high professional standard

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and strengthen trusted relationships with clients and professional contacts

  • Identify opportunities to introduce wider Crowe services, including:

  • VAT

  • Personal tax

  • Employment and payroll taxes

  • Corporate finance support

Business Development

  • Play an active role in generating new work

  • Support business development initiatives across the wider team

  • Help expand Crowe’s presence and reputation in the market


What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone with a strong combination of technical tax expertise, commercial awareness, and people leadership skills.

Essential Requirements

  • ACA / CTA qualified (or equivalent)

  • Significant experience in Corporate Tax and accounting

  • Strong exposure to both advisory and compliance projects

  • Demonstrable commitment to excellent client service

  • A proven ability to develop new business opportunities

Technical Knowledge and Skills

  • Solid understanding of UK corporate tax rules and concepts

  • Good working knowledge of UK GAAP fundamentals

  • Understanding of tax accounting principles, including deferred tax

  • Ability to analyse financial statements and source documentation quickly and accurately

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, solution-focused mindset

  • Confidence in managing and assessing risk effectively

  • Lead tax advisory work and report directly to tax partners

  • Oversee larger and more complex client compliance engagements

  • Maintain strong and professional relationships with clients and contacts

  • Spot opportunities to provide additional value through broader service offerings

  • Take ownership of the financial performance of client and project work

  • Identify process improvements within client businesses and suggest practical recommendations

  • Ensure all work is delivered with a strong focus on:

  • quality

Risk and Integrity
