The Opportunity
We are looking for an Associate Director to join our Employment Tax team, playing a key role in delivering outstanding advice to clients while helping to shape the continued success of our national employer solutions practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced employment tax professional who wants to work with a wide-ranging client base, lead on complex technical matters, and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team.
About the Team
Our National Employer Solutions team is a forward-thinking specialist group focused on three core areas:
Domestic employment tax
Global employer services
Share plans and reward
With a team of around 100 specialists across the UK, we deliver practical, tailored solutions that help clients:
Navigate complex employment tax challenges
Manage global workforce issues
Develop effective reward and incentive strategies
Our clients range from entrepreneurial start-ups to multinational organisations and public sector bodies, giving you exposure to varied, interesting, and impactful work.
What You’ll Be Doing
As an Associate Director, you will be a central figure within the team, combining technical expertise, client leadership, and people development.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing high-quality advisory and compliance support to a portfolio of clients
Building strong, trusted client relationships and acting as a go-to adviser
Leading the delivery of technically complex, commercially focused advice
Supporting Partners and Directors in identifying opportunities and winning new business
Managing, mentoring, and developing junior colleagues
Collaborating across service lines to deliver integrated client solutions
Contributing to the ongoing growth of the national employer solutions practice
Key Areas of Work
You will advise on a broad and varied range of employment tax matters, including:
Employment status and off-payroll working
PAYE and NIC compliance reviews
HMRC enquiries and disclosures
Expenses and benefits planning
Salary sacrifice and optional remuneration arrangements
Termination payments
Internationally mobile employees and social security
Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) matters
Due diligence and transaction support
Reward and incentive planning
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded professional who can combine technical excellence with strong leadership and relationship management skills.
You should ideally bring:
Strong technical knowledge of UK employment tax
Proven experience in managing a client portfolio
A track record of delivering employment tax advisory work
The ability to identify and develop new business opportunities
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Strong project management and team leadership capability
A relevant professional qualification such as CTA, ACA, ACCA, ATT, or equivalent
