The Opportunity

In this role, you will deliver a mix of corporate tax compliance and advisory services to a broad portfolio of large corporate clients, making full use of technology and modern tools to drive efficiency and value.

You will take ownership of client relationships, oversee complex advisory work, support the development of junior team members, and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and ways of working within the practice.


What You’ll Be Doing

Client Service & Portfolio Management

  • Deliver corporate tax compliance and advisory services to a wide range of large corporate clients.

  • Manage a substantial portfolio of clients, ensuring high-quality service delivery and strong commercial performance.

  • Oversee client onboarding and engagement processes.

  • Manage billings, recoverability, and cash collection, while identifying opportunities to improve financial performance.

  • Build and maintain trusted professional relationships with clients, adapting your communication style to different audiences, including senior stakeholders.

Advisory & Technical Leadership

  • Lead complex advisory projects, providing insightful and practical solutions to sophisticated tax matters.

  • Apply strong technical knowledge to resolve complex corporate tax issues.

  • Support the team with special assignments on an ad hoc basis as business needs arise.

People Management & Team Development

  • Guide, supervise, and support less experienced colleagues in their day-to-day work and longer-term development.

  • Train, mentor, and advise others within your area of expertise.

  • Take an active role in creating a collaborative, high-performing team environment.

Improvement, Risk & Accountability

  • Challenge existing practices and help drive improvements across the function.

  • Champion positive change and contribute to the ongoing evolution of the team’s approach and processes.

  • Understand and manage potential risks to the Firm, ensuring compliance with quality control procedures and escalating matters where appropriate.

  • Take personal responsibility for your own decisions and actions, as well as for those you lead.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a technically strong and commercially aware tax professional who brings leadership capability, client relationship skills, and a proactive mindset.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • In-depth and current knowledge of large corporate taxation, including specialist expertise and the ability to navigate complex tax matters.

  • Proven project management and people management experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a sizeable client portfolio profitably.

  • A track record of identifying opportunities to develop new client relationships and expand services with existing clients.

  • Experience engaging with senior client management and building credibility at that level.

  • Degree educated and/or CTA, ACA, or equivalent professionally qualified.

  • Post-qualification experience in a relevant corporate tax environment.
