We are partnering with a fast-scaling stealth AI business that is building and operating large-scale GPU compute infrastructure to power advanced AI workloads. Working alongside institutional capital providers and lenders, the company sits at the intersection of AI, infrastructure, and private capital.

As the business expands internationally and deploys capital at scale, tax strategy has become a critical lever for growth, efficiency, and governance. This is an opportunity for an experienced tax leader to take ownership of a high-impact global mandate and shape the tax function from the ground up.


The Opportunity

The company is seeking a commercially minded and highly capable **VP of Tax** to join its leadership team.

Reporting directly to the **CFO**, this role will lead the design and execution of the tax framework needed to support international expansion, sophisticated financing arrangements, and large-scale infrastructure investment. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys both strategic leadership and practical execution in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.


What You’ll Be Responsible For

Global Tax Strategy & Structuring

  • Develop and implement the company’s global tax strategy across key jurisdictions, including the US and Europe

  • Design tax-efficient structures across:

  • Corporate entities

  • Investment vehicles

  • Joint ventures

  • Partnerships with private capital providers, infrastructure investors, and private equity firms

  • Support fundraising activity with asset manager partners, ensuring efficient tax structuring across both debt and equity financing

  • Drive tax efficiency throughout the full asset lifecycle, from initial development through to long-term operation

Transactions, Investment & Capital Deployment

  • Lead tax input into:

  • Corporate fundraising

  • Capital raises

  • Infrastructure and technology investments

  • Strategic acquisitions

  • Support the structuring of joint ventures and strategic partnerships with asset managers and major corporate counterparties

  • Conduct tax diligence on acquisition opportunities as the business expands its platform and capabilities

  • Partner closely with finance, corporate development, and external advisors to:

  • Execute transactions effectively

  • Assess tax implications of commercial contracts

  • Review financing arrangements

  • Evaluate new business initiatives

International Tax & Compliance

  • Oversee tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, with a strong focus on Europe and the US

  • Develop and manage transfer pricing frameworks, including areas relating to intellectual property

  • Monitor and mitigate permanent establishment risk

  • Implement effective strategies around:

  • Withholding tax

  • Repatriation

  • Cross-border joint venture structures

  • Ensure the business remains aligned with changing international tax rules, compliance obligations, and reporting requirements

Governance, Risk & Control

  • Establish a strong and scalable tax governance framework

  • Build and maintain effective risk management controls across the tax function

  • Manage relationships with external specialists, including:

  • Big 4 advisors

  • Legal counsel

  • Other technical tax advisors

  • Engage with tax authorities where needed, ensuring structures are:

  • Compliant

  • Defensible

  • Aligned to the company’s long-term strategic goals

Strategic Partnership Across the Business

  • Work closely with executive leadership, capital markets, and strategy teams

  • Provide tax insight to support:

  • Capital structuring decisions

  • Investor return optimisation

  • Long-term platform economics

  • Contribute to cash flow planning and capital allocation from a tax perspective

  • Partner with accounting and finance teams to ensure tax strategy is aligned with financial reporting outcomes

Building the Tax Function

  • Create and scale the tax function in line with business growth

  • Put in place the right:

  • Processes

  • Controls

  • Documentation

  • Reporting frameworks

  • Support a complex, multi-entity and multi-jurisdictional operating model

  • Drive ongoing improvement across tax systems, processes, and governance


What They’re Looking For

Experience & Background

You will bring substantial tax leadership experience, ideally gained within **private equity**, **infrastructure funds**, or similarly capital-intensive and growth-oriented environments.

You should have strong experience in structuring **complex cross-border investments** and a deep understanding of **international tax**, **financing structures**, and **investment structuring**. Experience operating in a business that is scaling quickly is essential.

  • A strong commercial mindset, with a clear understanding of how tax decisions affect returns, capital efficiency, and growth

  • The ability to operate at both a strategic and hands-on execution level

  • Confidence in building frameworks, structure, and processes from scratch

  • A genuine interest in developing and leading a team as the business grows

  • Strong judgment, integrity, and calm decision-making in complex or high-stakes situations

  • A collaborative and pragmatic approach, with the ability to influence across:

  • Finance

  • Legal

  • Executive leadership

  • External stakeholders


Preferred Experience

  • Exposure to infrastructure, energy, data centres, or other capital-intensive sectors

  • Familiarity with both US and European tax environments

  • Prior experience in or around a public company environment would be beneficial

  • Experience supporting:

  • Fundraising

  • Investor structuring

  • Capital deployment strategies

  • A track record of success in high-growth or rapidly scaling organisations
