The Opportunity

This role offers the opportunity to become part of a highly respected Midlands-based Corporate Tax Advisory & Compliance team, working from either Birmingham or Nottingham.

You will support a wide-ranging portfolio of clients, including UK-based groups and inbound multinationals, helping them navigate complex corporate tax matters linked to business transformation, international growth, and regulatory change.

Key areas of advisory work include:

  • Expansion into new jurisdictions

  • Business reorganisations and new operating models

  • Managing tax authority enquiries

  • Pre- and post-deal restructuring

  • Cash repatriation and refinancing strategies

  • Interest deductibility matters

  • Global tax reform, including BEPS Pillar 2

What You’ll Be Doing

As a **Senior Manager**, you will take on a broad leadership role across advisory delivery, client relationships, team development, and commercial growth.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with Directors and Partners on complex tax advisory assignments

  • Delivering technically strong, commercially aware advice to clients

  • Building trusted client relationships and identifying opportunities for broader support across tax and other service lines

  • Leading UK and international teams, working with specialists, overseas member firms, and third-party advisers

  • Overseeing compliance delivery to ensure consistency, quality, and accuracy

  • Supporting team leadership, including mentoring, coaching, and resource planning

  • Driving business development activity by spotting and progressing new opportunities

  • Managing engagement risk, quality standards, and financial performance

  • Championing KPMG’s values and fostering an inclusive team culture


What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking an experienced tax professional who combines technical strength with leadership capability, commercial awareness, and a collaborative mindset.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • CTA or ACA/CA qualification (or equivalent)

  • Strong experience in UK corporation tax

  • Broad awareness of related tax and accounting issues

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building ability

  • A proactive, ambitious, and enthusiastic approach

  • Sound commercial judgement and risk awareness

  • Proven project management and team leadership capability

  • A genuine interest in developing junior colleagues

  • A commitment to continuous technical and professional growth
