Head of International Tax & Transfer Pricing
Convera | UK | Fully Remote
Convera is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Head of International Tax & Transfer Pricing to lead its global tax strategy from the UK in a fully remote role. Reporting directly to the Chief Accounting & Tax Officer, this is a senior leadership opportunity to shape and oversee the company’s international tax framework, transfer pricing model, and global tax risk management approach.
This role is ideal for a strategic tax leader who can combine technical excellence with practical execution, while acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across a complex international business.
The Opportunity
As Head of International Tax & Transfer Pricing, you will take ownership of Convera’s enterprise-wide approach to international tax planning, controversy management, and global transfer pricing. You will help ensure the business remains compliant with changing global tax regulations while also supporting sustainable growth, efficient structuring, and strong tax governance.
You will work in close partnership with the Head of Direct Tax Compliance & Provisioning and the Head of Indirect Taxes to ensure tax positions are accurately reflected across returns, reporting, and VAT considerations.
This is a high-impact position where you will advise on matters including:
Cross-border structuring
Permanent establishment risk
M&A and post-deal tax matters
Financing and treasury structures
IP ownership and migration
Supply chain and operating model design
Tax cashflow optimisation
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Tax Leadership
You will define and continually evolve Convera’s international tax and transfer pricing strategy in line with business objectives and regulatory developments.
Develop and enhance the global tax governance framework
Set the organisation’s tax risk appetite
Partner with senior leadership on the tax implications of:
Market entries
Reorganisations
Financing strategies
Treasury initiatives
IP migration
Changes to operating models
Support and mentor a global team of tax professionals
Establish KPIs, development plans, and succession pathways
2. International Tax Management
You will lead the group’s international tax agenda, ensuring robust planning, operational alignment, and defensible tax positions across jurisdictions.
Partner with the Head of Compliance & Provisioning on:
Global cash tax forecasting
Repatriation strategies
Collaborate with:
Treasury
FP&A
Controllership
Oversee tax-efficient structures relating to:
Holding companies
Cross-border financing
IP ownership
Lead implementation planning and ongoing compliance for:
OECD Pillar Two (GloBE)
BEPS measures
Coordinate:
Data gathering
Calculations
Safe harbour assessments
Contribute to global corporate income tax compliance, with focus on:
CFC rules
Interest limitation
Withholding taxes
Hybrid mismatch rules
Manage global tax audits, disputes, and controversy matters
Oversee APAs/MAPs, supporting strong documentation and settlement strategies
3. Transfer Pricing Leadership
You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Convera’s global transfer pricing framework to ensure alignment with arm’s-length principles and operational practicality.
Establish and maintain transfer pricing policies covering:
Intercompany services
Financing arrangements
Intangibles
Design and validate pricing methodologies such as:
CUP
TNMM
Profit Split
Perform annual testing and necessary year-end adjustments
Oversee global transfer pricing compliance, including:
Master File
Local Files
Benchmarking studies
Manage operational transfer pricing processes such as:
Intercompany invoicing
Cost allocations
Lead APA activity where appropriate
Handle transfer pricing audits, disputes, and competent authority processes
4. M&A, Reorganisation & Business Projects
You will provide tax leadership across strategic transactions and business transformation initiatives.
Lead tax due diligence for:
Acquisitions
Joint ventures
Carve-outs
Advise on transaction structuring, integration, and post-deal optimisation
Support supply chain redesign and principal structure development
Advise on substance requirements
Provide guidance on internal reorganisations and direct tax implications of commercial decisions
5. Tax Operations, Data & Technology
You will help modernise and strengthen tax processes, controls, and reporting through better use of technology and data.
Partner with Oracle and accounting teams to help automate:
Transfer pricing calculations
Tax reporting processes
Define and implement controls over tax-sensitive data
Support reporting requirements linked to:
Pillar Two
Transfer pricing
Statutory compliance
Drive improvements in:
Automation
Data governance
Tax analytics
Reporting reliability
6. Stakeholder Engagement & Executive Communication
You will be a visible and trusted advisor across the business, able to communicate complex tax matters in a clear and commercially relevant way.
Present executive-level insights on:
Tax risk
Cash tax drivers
Audit exposure
Regulatory developments
Build productive relationships with:
Tax authorities
External advisors
Industry bodies
Represent Convera in relevant external forums where required
What We’re Looking For
Essential Experience & Skills
You should apply if you bring deep technical expertise, strong leadership capability, and a track record of operating successfully in complex multinational environments.
Approximately 12–15+ years of progressive experience in:
International corporate tax
Transfer pricing
Background in:
Multinational groups
Big Four or leading advisory firms
Significant people leadership experience
Professional qualification such as:
CTA
ACA / ACCA
Or equivalent
Strong expertise in:
OECD BEPS
Pillar Two / GloBE
Global transfer pricing documentation
Hands-on experience preparing and defending:
Master Files
Local Files
Transfer pricing positions
Proven success managing:
Large-scale audits
Tax controversies
APAs / MAPs
Experience advising on:
M&A
IP planning
Financing arrangements
Supply chain and operating model design
Strong knowledge of the UK tax landscape, including:
Corporate tax regime
SAO
CIR
DPT
MDR / DAC6
Withholding tax
Substance rules
Strong financial and systems knowledge, including:
Financial statements
Oracle
Tax technology and data tools
Ability to translate technical tax rules into operational and business-friendly processes
Preferred Experience
