The Opportunity
As Senior Tax Manager, you will play a central role in shaping and delivering GXO’s European tax strategy. You will work across a broad range of international tax matters, partnering with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and tax authorities to ensure compliance, efficiency, and strong governance.
This is an ideal opportunity for a commercially minded tax leader who enjoys balancing strategic planning with operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be entrusted with a diverse and influential remit, including:
Leading proactive tax planning initiatives, including:
Legal entity restructuring
Tax optimisation projects
Cash repatriation strategies
Designing, maintaining, and documenting:
Transfer Pricing policies
Intercompany agreements
Overseeing key European tax reporting obligations, such as:
DAC6
Public CbCR
Pillar 2 compliance
Acting as the main point of contact for tax matters across European markets
Building and managing relationships with:
Tax authorities
External advisors
Internal cross-functional stakeholders
Driving the resolution of tax audits
Providing guidance on:
US GAAP tax reporting
Local statutory tax reporting
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a technically strong, commercially aware, and confident tax professional who can operate effectively in a complex international environment.
Essential Experience & Expertise
Significant tax experience gained in a Big 4 and/or in-house environment
Demonstrated progression with increasing levels of responsibility
Deep understanding of European tax legislation
Strong technical knowledge of international tax frameworks, including:
Transfer Pricing
CbCR
Pillar 2
ATAD
DAC6
Technical & Professional Skills
Working knowledge of:
US GAAP
IFRS tax accounting
SOX compliance
ACA or CTA qualified (or equivalent)
Strong commercial judgement and decision-making ability
Ability to work independently and deliver under tight deadlines
Communication & Leadership
Excellent communication skills in English
Additional European language skills would be an advantage
Ability to influence and collaborate across cross-functional teams
Confident engaging with senior stakeholders, advisors, and authorities
