The Opportunity

We are looking for a Tax Senior to join our Manchester city centre team in a pure advisory role. This is an exciting opportunity for an ATT or ACCA qualified, or part-qualified professional with corporate tax experience gained within practice and a genuine interest in complex planning work.

You will manage a varied portfolio of private and corporate clients, delivering high-quality tax advice across a broad range of sophisticated planning matters. The role offers exposure to significant advisory projects across corporate tax, personal tax, and family wealth planning, while working alongside a collaborative and experienced team.


What You’ll Be Doing

Client Advisory & Planning

  • Manage and lead a portfolio of advisory clients, providing commercially focused and practical tax solutions.

  • Advise large corporate clients on UK and international tax matters.

  • Support businesses with strategic tax planning around:

  • Group restructures

  • Reorganisations

  • Demergers

  • Management buyouts

  • Employee Ownership Trusts (EOTs)

  • Valuations

  • Profit extraction strategies

  • BADR and loan note planning

  • Due diligence assignments

Business Structuring & Transactions

  • Provide guidance on the most effective business structures, including:

  • Partnership formations

  • Incorporations

  • Trade vs investment company planning

  • Preferred structure analysis

  • Advise clients on the tax implications of:

  • Buying a business

  • Selling a business

  • Wider transactional activity

  • Help clients navigate transactions with strategic, clear, and commercially aware advice.

Personal & Family Wealth Advisory

  • Deliver advisory support across:

  • Capital Gains Tax (CGT) planning

  • Inheritance Tax (IHT) mitigation

  • Trust planning

  • Family Investment Company planning

  • Residence and domicile planning

  • Remuneration strategies

  • Succession planning

  • SDLT advice

  • IHT gifting strategies

  • Growth planning

Collaboration & Technical Excellence

  • Work closely with managers and directors on complex technical assignments and high-value advisory projects.

  • Support compliance-related matters collaboratively, including:

  • Corporate tax return submissions

  • Tax accounting requirements

  • Group reporting disclosures

  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of UK tax legislation and emerging tax developments.

  • Build lasting client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service delivery.

Leadership & Development

  • Contribute to the development of colleagues and teams.

  • Take a collaborative and creative approach to solving complex client issues.

  • Identify opportunities to grow client relationships through referrals, networking, and cross-service opportunities.


What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a confident and technically capable tax professional who enjoys solving complex problems and building trusted client relationships.

Essential experience and qualifications:

  • A professional tax or accountancy qualification such as ACA, ATT, CTA, CA, ACCA (or international equivalent), or equivalent relevant experience

  • ATT, CTA, or ACCA qualified, or part-qualified with strong advisory experience

  • Previous experience advising large corporate tax clients on UK and international matters

  • Strong UK corporate tax knowledge

  • Ability to review:

  • UK tax computations

  • Tax accounting calculations

  • Group reporting disclosures

  • Sound accounting knowledge, including the ability to interpret statutory accounts

  • Proven experience in corporate tax advisory, ideally covering:

  • Restructures

  • Reorganisations

  • Transactions

  • Strategic planning

Desirable experience:

  • Exposure to personal tax advisory, including:

  • CGT

  • IHT

  • Residence planning

  • Remuneration planning

  • A background in a Top 50 UK accountancy firm or a well-regarded tax advisory practice

  • Broader business tax knowledge beyond core corporate tax

Personal attributes:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • A proactive and solutions-focused mindset

  • Confidence in managing and developing client relationships

  • Ability to interpret complex legislation and explain it clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
