The Role

As a Corporate Tax Senior Manager, you will play a key role in leading client relationships, overseeing compliance work, and contributing to a range of advisory projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and commercially minded tax professional who enjoys working closely with clients and mentoring others.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of corporate tax clients while supporting the wider team with both compliance and advisory matters.

  • Review Corporation Tax returns and computations prepared on behalf of clients.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring all Corporate Tax Returns and Computations are completed accurately and submitted to HM Revenue & Customs on time.
  • Support and contribute to advisory projects, including:
    • Succession planning
    • Management buyouts (MBOs)
    • Share schemes
    • R&D tax relief
  • Handle tax queries on behalf of clients in a responsive and professional manner.
  • Liaise directly with HM Revenue & Customs and other third parties where required.
  • Communicate with clients regularly to resolve queries arising from annual tax return preparation and ongoing tax matters.
  • Assist Partners and Directors in delivering tax planning advice and value-added solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser.
  • Advise clients on tax liabilities and ensure they are aware of relevant payment deadlines.
  • Manage work in progress (WIP) across your client portfolio, ensuring timely billing and fee recovery upon completion of work.
  • Manage time effectively to achieve strong recovery rates while ensuring time is appropriately charged to clients.
  • Meet with prospective clients to discuss their tax affairs and identify opportunities to support their needs.
  • Support and develop team members, helping to build capability within the Corporate Tax team.

About You

We are looking for a confident and driven tax professional who combines technical excellence with strong interpersonal skills.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • CTA qualified, or qualified to a similar professional level.
  • Strong experience in Corporation Tax compliance and advisory work.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and driven, with a positive work ethic.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with clients and colleagues across the wider Dains Group.
  • Resilient and confident when facing new challenges and opportunities.
  • Strong leadership qualities, with the confidence and tenacity to develop others.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to manage client work efficiently and effectively.
