The Opportunity

We are looking for an Indirect Tax Analyst to support SHI’s tax compliance activities, with a particular focus on the administrative side of VAT across the EMEA and APAC regions.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing international tax team and play a key role in supporting tax documentation, cross-border returns, and a range of other tax-related submissions. You will also have the chance to contribute to tax projects and work closely with internal accounting teams, global stakeholders, and external advisers.

Please note: this position is required to report to the SHI Milton Keynes office.


Key Responsibilities

As an Indirect Tax Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the preparation and provision of information for internal and external tax accountants and advisers across the EMEA and APAC regions
  • Assisting with the completion of tax filings and related documentation
  • Managing general tax administration, including:
    • Tracking tax payments
    • Monitoring notices and submissions
    • Preparing reconciliations
  • Working closely with the Tax and Accounting teams to gather required information and submit reports for review
  • Preparing draft workings and schedules to support tax submissions
  • Collaborating with the Tax team and Director of Accounting on various ad hoc tax-related projects
  • Completing tax-related controls and supporting compliance processes
  • Reviewing ledgers to identify tax-sensitive data and submitting findings for further review
  • Building effective working relationships with key stakeholders in the UK and across international teams

Skills and Experience Required

Essential Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, including gathering information, identifying issues, and suggesting appropriate solutions
  • Ability and willingness to learn tax rules and build technical tax knowledge
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook

Qualifications and Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience in an Accounting or Tax-related role
  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience preparing tax-related documents and submissions
  • Strong understanding of indirect taxes, including VAT and GST
  • Experience using an ERP system
