Role Overview
As a Tax Advisor
, you will act as a trusted subject matter expert, supporting the business on a broad range of VAT matters. You will provide practical advice, strengthen compliance frameworks, support audits and reporting activities, and work closely with colleagues across functions as well as external advisors and tax authorities.
This role offers the opportunity to combine technical expertise with business partnership in a dynamic multinational environment.
Key Responsibilities
VAT Advisory
You will provide clear, practical, and technically sound VAT advice to the business, ensuring compliance while supporting efficient transaction structuring.
Advise on VAT compliance and tax-efficient transaction models
Partner with internal stakeholders and external tax advisors across Europe
Respond to day-to-day VAT queries from the business in a timely and pragmatic way
Review business projects and transactions to ensure VAT compliance and optimization
VAT Reporting & E-Invoicing
You will support VAT reporting initiatives and contribute to projects involving e-invoicing and indirect tax data processes.
Provide advisory support on VAT reporting requirements
Support e-invoicing projects across local and cross-border operations
Help ensure the accuracy, consistency, and efficiency of VAT data submissions
Monitor compliance with relevant reporting obligations across multiple jurisdictions
Audit & Tax Authority Support
You will play an important role in managing VAT audits and responding to questions raised by tax authorities.
Assist with VAT audits across European jurisdictions
Prepare supporting documentation and well-structured responses
Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth handling of tax authority inquiries
Help maintain compliance with local legislative requirements
Tax Control Framework
You will contribute to building and strengthening a robust indirect tax control environment.
Support the development of indirect tax policies and procedures
Enhance the VAT control framework through process improvements and testing
Promote operational efficiency while maintaining strong compliance standards
Identify opportunities to improve governance and reduce tax risk
VAT Awareness & Training
You will help build VAT knowledge across the organisation by translating technical tax requirements into practical business guidance.
Deliver VAT awareness sessions and targeted training
Provide practical recommendations to business teams
Keep colleagues informed about VAT legislative changes across Europe
Encourage a proactive and informed approach to VAT compliance
Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management
You will build strong working relationships internally and externally to support effective VAT management.
Collaborate with teams across the business to align on VAT requirements
Influence cross-functional stakeholders on compliance-related matters
Maintain relationships with tax authorities, industry bodies, and external consultants
Stay current on regulatory developments and best practices
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a confident and experienced VAT professional who combines deep technical knowledge with strong interpersonal and commercial skills.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Master’s degree in Tax Law or Fiscal Economics
Minimum 6 years’ experience in VAT advisory
Experience gained in a combination of Big 4 and in-house environments is highly desirable
Strong experience providing independent VAT advice
Proven ability to apply complex technical concepts to practical business situations
Languages
Excellent written and verbal English
Proficiency in at least one additional language

Ability to work with senior leadership
Excellent analytical thinking, judgement, and decision-making ability
High level of flexibility and adaptability
Innovative, solutions-focused mindset
Confidence in working independently and managing priorities effectively
