The Opportunity

As part of the Financial Services VAT team, you will work with a varied portfolio that includes:

• Listed and unlisted financial services businesses

• Multinational groups

• Private equity-backed organisations

• Individual clients

In this role, you will play an important part in the continued growth of the firm’s VAT advisory offering within Financial Services. You will help strengthen client relationships while delivering advice that is both technically robust and commercially focused.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Build and maintain strong client relationships, taking a proactive and responsive approach to service delivery

• Deliver high-quality VAT advisory services to financial services clients

• Support the management and execution of complex indirect tax projects

• Identify and contribute to new business opportunities for both the indirect tax team and the wider firm

• Collaborate closely with partners and colleagues across tax and advisory functions

• Coach, mentor, and support junior team members in their professional development

• Maintain technical excellence and ensure work is delivered in line with relevant quality and compliance standards

About the Team

The Financial Services VAT team advises a broad range of clients across:

• Banking

• Insurance

• Asset management

• Other regulated financial services sectors

The team is known for delivering support on complex VAT and indirect tax matters and works in close partnership with colleagues across the wider tax practice to provide integrated, practical solutions.

About You

We are looking for a candidate who brings a strong combination of technical expertise, client focus, and commercial mindset.

You will ideally have:

• Strong VAT technical skills, ideally gained within a professional practice environment

• Experience advising financial services clients on indirect tax matters

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• The ability to manage multiple priorities and build strong working relationships

• Commercial awareness and a genuine interest in supporting business development activity

• A relevant professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent
