US International Tax Compliance & Provision Specialist
Location: Bangalore, India

HP’s Global Tax organization is seeking a talented and driven professional to join the US Income Tax Compliance & Provision team in Bangalore. This is a highly visible opportunity to contribute to a world-class tax function that supports HP’s complex global business operations and evolving tax strategy.
In this role, you will play an important part in analyzing and reporting on HP’s tax structure and effective tax rate, while partnering with colleagues across the U.S. and India. You will be working within a high-performing team focused on US international taxation, with exposure to sophisticated tax matters, planning initiatives, and compliance processes.
About the Role
This position offers the chance to work at the center of HP’s international tax operations. You will support compliance, consulting, and tax provision activities, while helping drive key projects, improve processes, manage risks, and support audit-related matters.
The role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex tax issues, collaborating across functions, and working in a dynamic environment with significant global exposure.
Key Responsibilities
As part of the US International Tax Compliance & Provision team, your responsibilities will include:
Managing US international tax compliance activities, including:
Earnings & profits calculations
Subpart F computations
Foreign tax credit analysis
Source of income determinations
Allocation and apportionment of expenses
International components of federal tax return preparation
Preparing and reviewing international tax forms, such as:
Form 5471
Form 8991
Form 8992
Form 8993
Form 1118
Form 8858
Supporting quarterly and annual international tax provision analysis, including:
Structural and planning transaction analysis
APB 23 analysis
ASC 740 considerations
Basis and earnings & profits studies
Book-to-tax basis analysis
Participating in tax planning and technical research initiatives, including:
Estimated tax forecasting
High-complexity tax projects
Research of US tax regulations and technical matters using tools such as Checkpoint or BNA
Leading and coordinating junior team members or co-sourced personnel on critical projects across:
Tax compliance
Tax planning
Tax accounting
Driving continuous improvement and transformation initiatives across tax processes and workflows
Responding to tax authority notices and engaging directly with tax authorities where required
Collaborating across functions and organizational levels to deliver projects effectively and meet deadlines
What You Bring
To succeed in this role, you should bring a strong blend of technical tax expertise, analytical thinking, and collaborative working style.
Required Skills and Knowledge
Strong proficiency in MS Office tools, especially:
Excel
Access
Power BI
Solid understanding of US GAAP accounting
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Effective project management and organizational ability
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research capabilities
A collaborative, adaptable, and deadline-driven approach
Enthusiasm for learning and taking on new challenges
Preferred
Experience with CORPTAX
Tax domain expertise
Preferred Certifications
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Chartered Accountant (CA)
