The Team
This opportunity sits within Warner Music’s EMEA Shared Services Centre, which provides essential financial, tax, and administrative support across our European Recorded Music and Publishing businesses.
Within this structure, the Indirect Tax Team plays a vital role in delivering tax compliance across the region. As WMG continues its transition to SAP S/4HANA, the team is central to embedding robust tax processes into new systems, maintaining data integrity, and ensuring compliance across multiple territories.
The Opportunity
This is a highly visible role supporting the Senior Indirect Tax Manager in shaping and elevating the indirect tax compliance function into a true Centre of Excellence.
You will contribute to the design and implementation of best-practice compliance processes covering indirect taxes and withholding tax, while working closely with teams across Shared Services, labels, affiliates, and the wider Tax function.
This role is ideal for someone who combines technical tax knowledge with a passion for process improvement, automation, and cross-functional partnership.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
1. Driving Projects and Building Capability
Lead key tax-related projects and collaborate across teams to identify opportunities for operational improvement.
Work alongside the Senior Tax Manager to support the development of Tax Analysts.
Help build a team culture focused on accountability, growth, and engagement.
2. Improving Processes and Embracing Innovation
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across indirect tax operations.
Partner with IT and Finance Operations to enhance tax engines, controls, and reporting processes.
Use your interest in AI and automation to find smarter, more efficient ways of working.
3. Strengthening Tax Governance
Maintain strong internal controls and ensure tax process documentation is complete and accurate.
Recognise issues that require escalation to Group Tax for technical guidance or controversy management.
4. Delivering Insightful Reporting
Develop and improve reports for indirect tax and withholding tax that provide more than just system outputs.
Highlight risks, identify anomalies, and generate insights that support business decisions.
5. Partnering Across the Business
Work closely with:
Record to Report
Order to Cash
Accounts Payable
Ensure tax processes are fully integrated for accurate and timely reporting.
Collaborate with local finance teams, labels, and affiliates to understand commercial changes affecting tax compliance.
Act as a trusted advisor, translating complex tax matters into clear guidance for non-tax stakeholders.
6. Owning Compliance Delivery
Help design and implement efficient, scalable, and where possible automated compliance processes for:
VAT
GST
WHT
Other relevant taxes across EMEA
Support compliance processes in line with the ongoing SAP S/4HANA rollout.
Take responsibility for the timely and accurate preparation of VAT returns managed by the EMEA Indirect Tax compliance team, including review and delegation where appropriate.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Experience and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, tax, or a related discipline.
Experience in indirect tax, ideally within:
a multinational business, or
a professional services environment.
A strong understanding of indirect and withholding tax regulations across key EMEA territories, such as:
UK
France
Italy
Ireland
Nordics
South Africa
Central & Eastern Europe
Experience with SAP S/4HANA and tax engines such as ONESOURCE.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical tax concepts clearly to non-specialists.
A proactive, solutions-led mindset and the confidence to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Experience in process design, testing, and continuous improvement.
Excellent reconciliation, reporting, and analytical skills.
High attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Experience working within a shared services environment or on cross-functional projects.
Experience Level
While 5+ years of relevant experience is preferred, we also welcome applications from ambitious and high-potential individuals who are ready to step into a broader role.
Desirable Extras
It would be an advantage if you also bring:
Fluency in English plus another European language such as:
French
German
Italian
Spanish
Experience managing compliance calendars and documenting indirect tax processes.
Familiarity with XML log analysis and test script creation.
Knowledge of GAAP-to-tax adjustments and related journal entries.

Working Pattern
This role requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the office. We believe in-person collaboration is important for building strong relationships, sharing ideas, and supporting development.
