The Opportunity
As a Tax Manager, you will play a key role across the full spectrum of UK corporate tax services, including reporting, compliance, governance, and advisory. You will work closely with clients as well as senior members of the UK tax team, helping deliver high-quality solutions across a varied and sophisticated portfolio.

What You’ll Be Doing
1. Client Service Delivery
Tax Reporting
You will contribute to the delivery of tax reporting services for a diverse range of clients, including listed groups, multinational organisations, and privately held businesses.
Your work may include:
Preparing UK entity-level tax numbers under IFRS or UK GAAP
Preparing UK group tax numbers
Incorporating tax figures for non-UK subsidiaries
Managing GAAP-to-GAAP adjustments, such as US GAAP to IFRS
Supporting tax consolidation adjustments
Advising clients on tax reporting processes
Providing input on the tax aspects of GAAP conversion projects
Supporting the tax reporting and broader tax considerations of IPO readiness
UK Corporation Tax Compliance
You will help manage the preparation and submission of UK corporation tax returns, taking ownership of day-to-day client interactions and ensuring all necessary information is obtained efficiently and on time.
While CFGI has an established compliance framework, you will also have the autonomy to manage delivery in a way that ensures the service remains:

You will support CFGI’s tax governance offering, helping clients strengthen their approach to tax strategy, risk management, and internal controls.
Tax Advisory
You will also be involved in a broad range of advisory assignments, which may include:
Corporate tax advisory arising from compliance engagements
Loss planning and utilisation
Tax implications of trade and asset transfers
Interest deductibility matters
Cash tax modelling
Group simplification projects
Tax due diligence for transactions
Tax structuring support for transactions
2. Business Development
As CFGI continues to expand rapidly in the UK, this role offers meaningful exposure to business development and growth initiatives.
You may be involved in:
Helping identify tax opportunities across new and existing clients
Assisting with the drafting of proposals
Participating in sales meetings, presentations, and pitches
Collaborating with colleagues across other UK and US service lines, including:
Accounting Advisory
Business Transformation
US Tax
Spotting additional revenue opportunities within the current client base
Supporting cross-border collaboration to uncover UK tax opportunities within US client relationships

What We’re Looking For
Technical Knowledge
The successful candidate should bring strong corporate tax capability, ideally with experience across several of the following areas:
Experience with UK tax reporting processes
Strong knowledge of tax reporting under IFRS and UK GAAP
A high-level understanding of US GAAP is advantageous, though not essential
Experience in the UK corporation tax return preparation process
Sound technical knowledge of common tax adjustments, including:
Capital allowances
Tax incentives
Interest deductibility
Hybrid mismatches
Loss utilisation
Experience in handling and responding to HMRC tax enquiries
Awareness of cross-border tax matters, such as:
Transfer pricing
Country-by-country reporting
Other international tax considerations
Core Skills
We are looking for someone who combines technical quality with strong interpersonal and organisational capability.
You should be able to demonstrate:
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience with tax software, particularly OneSource
The ability to present information clearly and respond confidently to questions from both clients and colleagues
Excellent organisation and time management
The ability to multi-task effectively and perform well under deadlines
Strong analytical thinking
Effective written and verbal communication skills
The ability to work independently and take accountability for completing assignments
Confidence when collaborating with people from different technical disciplines and backgrounds
A practical and thoughtful approach to problem-solving, with creativity where needed

Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for this opportunity, you should typically have:
3 to 5 years of corporate tax experience
Ideally, some or all of that experience gained within a Big 4 environment
A professional accounting qualification such as:
ACA
ACCA
An additional tax qualification such as CTA is strongly preferred
