Eni is seeking an accomplished Head of Group Tax to join Searah Limited in London. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a tax professional who can drive consistency, accuracy, and compliance across the Searah Group while supporting strategic financial decision-making in a complex international environment.
In this role, you will lead the Group’s tax agenda across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring robust governance, effective risk management, and high-quality financial and tax reporting. You will also act as a key partner to senior stakeholders, including the CFO, Finance teams, Investor Relations, and external advisers.
What You Will Be Responsible For
As Head of Group Tax, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing tax governance and supporting wider business strategy. Your key responsibilities will include:
Leading Group tax oversight to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance in accounting, tax, and financial reporting across the Searah Group
Managing and coordinating the Group tax strategy, identifying synergies and optimising tax outcomes across a range of international jurisdictions
Overseeing tax compliance activities across Operating Companies, ensuring filings are completed on time and in accordance with regulatory requirements
Monitoring and managing tax risk by implementing effective controls, maintaining documentation, and escalating issues where appropriate
Providing technical tax support to Investor Relations, including the preparation of tax and financial disclosures for external stakeholders
Collaborating with Finance and external advisers to strengthen tax planning, governance, and transparency
Supporting the CFO with tax analysis, scenario modelling, and strategic recommendations to inform business decisions
What We Are Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will bring strong technical tax expertise, commercial awareness, and leadership capability. We are particularly interested in candidates with the following background:
A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Management, or a related discipline
Extensive senior-level experience in Treasury and/or Tax roles
Previous supervisory or leadership experience
Industry experience, ideally within the oil and gas sector
Strong knowledge of project financing structures and the management of hedging strategies
A solid understanding of money markets and foreign exchange
Advanced capability in economic modelling and Excel
Familiarity with SAP, which would be advantageous
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
A structured, methodical, and deadline-focused approach to work
Flexibility to work additional hours, including weekends, during year-end and quarterly close periods
Fluent English
