Tax Compliance Officer

Desigual

Desigual is looking for a passionate, hands-on, and detail-oriented Tax Compliance Officer to join our Tax Department. Reporting directly to the Group Head of Tax, this role is a fantastic opportunity for a tax professional with 3–4 years of experience who is ready to take ownership of Spanish tax compliance matters while contributing to the wider tax operations of an international group.

You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and accurate management of tax compliance across the Group’s Spanish entities, working closely with both internal finance teams and external advisors. Your Mission

As part of the Tax Department, you will oversee and coordinate the tax compliance activities of Desigual’s Spanish entities, while also supporting broader Group tax initiatives. This position requires strong knowledge of indirect taxation, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders.


What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing Spanish tax compliance

  • Coordinate, supervise, and review recurring tax filings for the Group’s Spanish entities

  • Work closely with the external Tax Compliance provider responsible for preparing returns

  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all submissions

  • Managing indirect tax matters

  • Take a lead role in VAT returns, OSS returns, and Intrastat reporting

  • Supervise compliance in relation to withholding taxes

  • Review and monitor indirect tax obligations linked to the marketplaces where the Group operates

  • Handling relationships with external advisors

  • Manage the day-to-day relationship with Spanish Tax Compliance advisors

  • Act as a key point of contact to ensure efficient communication and delivery

  • Administering local tax obligations

  • Oversee Spanish local taxes, especially Impuesto sobre Actividades Económicas (IAE)

  • Support tax matters related to the opening, closing, and relocation of stores

  • Supporting broader tax operations

  • Provide tax guidance to other business areas when needed

  • Assist in tax audits and other compliance-related matters

  • Contribute to the ongoing management and optimization of tax compliance processes

  • Monitoring digital tax compliance requirements

  • Supervise compliance with e-invoicing and digital reporting rules

  • Stay informed on current and upcoming requirements across the countries where the Group operates

  • Driving process improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve systems and tax-related processes

  • Lead implementation initiatives aimed at harmonizing procedures and improving compliance quality

  • Contributing to tax digitalization

  • Participate actively in the development of new technological tools and solutions

  • Support the Group’s broader tax digitalization strategy


What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a professional who combines solid technical tax knowledge with a proactive, collaborative mindset.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Economics, Law, Finance, or a related field

  • MSc in Taxation is a plus

  • 3–4 years of relevant professional experience in a multinational company or tax advisory firm

  • Experience in both corporate tax and indirect taxation

  • Knowledge of Tax Accounting

  • Fluent Spanish is essential

  • Intermediate to good level of English

Technical Skills

  • Experience with SAP is highly valued

  • Knowledge of HFM will be considered a strong advantage
