About the Role

Senior Project Manager – Tax Transformation

Schroders

Contract Role | London (Hybrid)

Schroders is delivering a major Tax Transformation Programme designed to modernise its global tax function, strengthen governance and controls, and prepare key areas of the function for potential outsourcing.

This programme will reshape processes, improve accountability, enhance the Tax Risk & Control Framework, and unlock better use of data and technology. The goal is to build a tax function that is scalable, efficient, well-controlled, and equipped to support future growth while meeting evolving regulatory expectations.

We are looking for an experienced Tax Transformation Senior Project Manager to lead the Outsourcing Readiness workstream and help move the programme from strategic design into disciplined delivery.

The Opportunity

This is a senior-level, delivery-focused role with ownership of a critical workstream covering outsourcing readiness, operational change, and data enablement.

You will take responsibility for planning and delivering the outsourcing transition end-to-end, beginning with a UK Corporate Tax pilot and expanding into broader phases of the programme.

Working across Tax, Technology, Data, Legal, Procurement, and third-party providers, you will play a central role in ensuring the programme is executed in a controlled, practical, and commercially effective way.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Outsourcing Readiness & Programme Delivery

  • Lead the outsourcing readiness workstream and associated sub-workstreams

  • Coordinate stakeholders across Tax, Legal, Procurement, Technology, Data, and external providers

  • Drive the delivery of a large-scale RFP for outsourced tax compliance and managed services

  • Establish clear plans, timelines, milestones, and governance frameworks

  • Ensure decisions are made effectively and progress is maintained across all delivery activities

  • Support the programme through to a successful commercial and operational outcome

UK Corporate Tax Pilot

  • Own the end-to-end delivery of the UK Corporate Tax pilot

  • Define delivery plans and translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements

  • Manage gap analysis and convert findings into new or enhanced data products within the data warehouse

  • Work closely with Global Technology teams and third-party providers to enable effective delivery

  • Coordinate testing activities to ensure data quality, accuracy, and timeliness

  • Oversee documentation standards and ensure delivery milestones are achieved

Data, Compliance & Controls

  • Embed outsourcing and data-transfer compliance requirements into delivery plans

  • Ensure alignment with Schroders’ data policies, particularly where data is externally reported

  • Promote strong control, governance, and audit-ready documentation throughout the programme

  • Help shape scalable approaches that can be extended beyond the initial pilot into wider implementation phases

Planning, Governance & Reporting

  • Translate the executive roadmap into phased, practical delivery plans

  • Define ownership, dependencies, and measurable business outcomes across workstreams

  • Manage and track sub-workstreams spanning the RFP, pilot, data provision, and overall implementation

  • Facilitate weekly working group sessions to monitor progress and resolve interdependencies

  • Maintain RAID logs covering risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies

  • Drive timely resolution and escalation where required

  • Prepare high-quality SteerCo and governance materials, ensuring accurate reporting and clear updates
