In this role, you will help deliver an exceptional client experience by combining technical expertise with a proactive, professional and highly organised approach. The focus is on providing practical, high-value advice that is carefully tailored to each client’s personal and family circumstances.


The Opportunity

This position sits within Saffery’s **UK Private Client team**, which advises individuals, families and related structures on a broad range of tax and personal financial matters.

The successful candidate will primarily work alongside **partners and directors**, supporting a portfolio of **wealthy UK-based families** and helping ensure all aspects of their affairs are managed efficiently, accurately and to the highest professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

This role offers a broad and varied workload, combining client-facing advisory work with portfolio management and internal coordination responsibilities.

Your core duties will include:

  • Advising private clients and family groups on tax-related matters

  • Supporting large and often complex family structures, including:

  • Individual family members

  • Trusts

  • Investment companies

  • Other related entities

  • Managing a portfolio of compliance-based clients

  • Undertaking review responsibilities, depending on your level of experience

  • Taking a leading role in direct client communication

  • Supporting the Engagement Partner in the delivery of client work

  • Coordinating the wider range of services Saffery provides to families, including:

  • Accounts preparation

  • Payroll

  • Corporation tax compliance

  • Working closely with internal specialist teams, including:

  • Corporate tax

  • Corporate finance

  • Tax specialists

  • Ensuring all client deliverables are completed accurately and on time

  • Managing budgets and handling client invoicing

  • Contributing to staff development and training

  • Building relationships through networking with intermediaries

  • Supporting or exploring additional advisory work in:

  • Forensic accounting

  • Business valuation


About the Team

Saffery’s UK Private Client team advises UK-based families on a wide variety of issues, from annual tax compliance through to long-term wealth planning and intergenerational succession matters.

The work is diverse, interesting and often complex, reflecting the unique needs of each client. The team is known for being trusted problem-solvers, offering practical support and clear advice across a broad range of personal and family matters.

Team structure

  • 5 partners based in the London office

  • Supported by approximately 20 professionals

  • Team members range from directors to trainees

About You

Saffery is looking for an enthusiastic and capable professional who enjoys working in a client-focused environment and is confident managing a varied and demanding workload.

Qualifications and experience

  • Hold an ACA or CTA qualification

  • Ideally have experience working within a private client advisory team

Skills and attributes

  • Strong technical ability

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Highly developed organisational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines across a varied portfolio

  • Comfortable supporting work for multiple partners

  • Self-motivated and proactive in solving client issues

  • Positive and professional in approach

  • Commercially aware, with a strong understanding of client expectations

  • Able to build credibility and communicate confidently at all levels

Systems and tools

The team works with the following systems and applications:

  • MS Teams

  • Excel

  • Word

  • Digita

Previous experience with these systems would be beneficial, but it is **not essential**. Full initial training will be provided, along with ongoing support in key Microsoft applications.
