The Opportunity
New ground won’t break itself.
As an Assistant Manager in our growing Private Capital Corporate Tax team, you will play an important role in supporting the continued expansion of our tax practice across the Central Belt, with a particular focus on the mid-market and owner-managed businesses (OMBs).
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a broad and dynamic client base, develop strong internal and external relationships, and contribute to both domestic and cross-border tax assignments.
You will help clients navigate an increasingly complex tax and sector landscape, delivering tailored solutions that manage today’s risks while preparing for tomorrow’s change.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will take ownership of a varied portfolio and support clients across a wide range of corporation tax matters.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing a portfolio of clients, including:
Owner-managed businesses
Private equity-backed businesses
Larger corporate groups
Supporting corporation tax matters across:
Annual corporation tax compliance
Specialist tax claims
Tax advisory projects
Project financing work
Transactions
Overseeing and reviewing work prepared by junior team members
Working closely with Partners and Directors, often reporting directly to them
Delivering corporate tax compliance, audit of tax, and tax advisory services
Acting as a main point of contact for your client portfolio, building trusted relationships
Collaborating with Audit colleagues and other internal teams to provide joined-up client service
Coaching and developing junior team members
Identifying new business opportunities and contributing to pitch and proposal activity
Organising the delivery of tax work, solving problems proactively, and ensuring deadlines are met
Building strong internal and external networks to strengthen collaboration and communication

Minimum requirements:
Qualified in one of the following:
ACA
ATT
CTA
Experience working in a corporate tax role
We’d also welcome experience in:
Strong and up-to-date knowledge of UK corporation tax legislation
Understanding of international tax concepts
Reviewing work and supervising staff in a tax environment
Managing corporation tax compliance portfolios
Experience with tax accounting and/or audit of tax
Strong communication skills with the ability to support team growth and key client delivery
A flexible, organised approach with the ability to manage multiple client commitments and deadlines
