The Opportunity

We are looking for an Assistant Manager to join our Private Client Tax team. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional who enjoys a mix of compliance, advisory work, client relationship management, and team leadership.

Our Private Client Team supports a varied portfolio including individuals, trustees, partnerships, sole traders, and family-owned businesses. In this role, you will help clients manage their tax affairs efficiently, accurately, and strategically, while also contributing to the growth and development of the wider team.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality private client tax services and supporting the success of both clients and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the tax compliance process for a varied portfolio of private clients.

• Deliver specialist technical assignments with accuracy and insight.

• Support advisory projects in collaboration with partners and senior colleagues.

• Review work completed by junior team members and provide constructive guidance.

• Coach and develop more junior staff, helping them build their technical and professional capabilities.

• Build and maintain strong internal and external client relationships.

• Contribute to business development activities and identify opportunities to add value.

• Ensure all client work is completed to a high standard and within agreed deadlines.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking someone who combines strong technical tax knowledge with excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.

Skills and Experience

• ATT / CTA / ACA / ACCA qualified, or equivalent.

• Demonstrated experience in private client tax.

• Strong background in both tax compliance and advisory work.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proven ability to manage a client portfolio and prioritise workloads effectively.

• Experience in coaching, mentoring, or developing junior colleagues.
