The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced **Personal Tax Manager** to join our **Stamford office** and lead our personal tax compliance function.

This is an important leadership role suited to someone who enjoys balancing technical expertise with people management and client relationship responsibility. You will play a central role in ensuring the smooth delivery of high-quality personal tax compliance services to a varied client base, while also mentoring junior colleagues and maintaining excellent service standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will take ownership of a diverse personal tax portfolio and provide expert support across a broad range of compliance matters.

• Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, including:

• High-net-worth individuals

• Company directors

• Sole traders

• Partnerships

• Act as the primary contact for client queries and day-to-day relationship management

• Review and approve self-assessment tax returns

• Oversee the preparation of personal tax computations for individuals

• Ensure submissions are completed accurately and on time in line with HMRC deadlines

• Handle HMRC enquiries and correspondence effectively and professionally

• Maintain current knowledge of UK personal tax legislation and regulatory updates

• Provide technical guidance on:

• Income Tax

• Capital Gains Tax

• Inheritance Tax

• Support and develop junior team members, helping to build capability within the department

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a tax professional with strong personal tax compliance experience gained within practice, alongside the confidence to manage both clients and team members effectively.

Key Requirements

• Ideally CTA or ATT qualified

• Strong background in personal tax compliance within an accountancy practice

• Proven experience reviewing complex tax returns

• Up-to-date knowledge of UK personal tax legislation

• Experience in managing client relationships

• Ability to lead, support, and develop a team
