About the Team

The Shared Service Centre (SSC) plays a vital role in supporting teams across the firm. From delivering operational support on large-scale projects to providing specialist expertise beyond the scope of core teams, the SSC helps keep BDO moving forward.

The Opportunity

The Expatriate Tax Hub provides UK Expatriate and US Tax compliance support, along with broader assistance to the national Expatriate Tax and Immigration team.

In this role, you will play an important part in strengthening the Hub’s technical capability and supporting the long-term goals of the Tax Stream. We are looking for someone with strong technical expertise who can champion quality, training, and knowledge sharing across the function.

Working Pattern

  • Hybrid working model

  • 2–3 days per week in the office


What You’ll Be Doing

As a key member of the team, you will help drive excellence across the Expatriate Tax Hub by combining technical expertise with a strong focus on collaboration and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the technical development and growth of the Expatriate Tax Hub

  • Helping maintain and improve the quality of service delivery

  • Contributing to training initiatives and closing skills gaps within the team

  • Embedding and promoting a strong “Quality First” culture

  • Working proactively on your own tasks while collaborating effectively with others

  • Building strong working relationships with senior managers, directors, and partners

  • Identifying opportunities to enhance service delivery and add further value to clients and teams

  • Sharing knowledge and best practice to strengthen the wider function


What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a confident, technically strong, and collaborative professional who can balance independent working with effective stakeholder engagement.

Essential skills and experience

  • ATT/CTA fully qualified accountancy qualification, or equivalent experience

  • Strong technical knowledge of UK Personal Tax legislation, particularly Expatriate Tax

  • Demonstrated experience in:

  • SLA delivery

  • Quality management

  • Training to address skills gaps

  • Embedding a quality-focused culture

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing abilities

  • Confidence in engaging with senior stakeholders and providing constructive challenge

  • Strong time management, organisational, and prioritisation skills

  • The ability to lead by example and drive strong team performance

  • A flexible mindset with the initiative to adapt and respond effectively

Desirable

  • Experience in Professional Services

  • Experience carrying out or managing accountancy tax-related work
