About the Opportunity
KPMG’s GCT team helps clients manage complex global tax compliance and reporting requirements through a blend of outsourcing, co-sourcing, transformation, and technology-enabled solutions. Clients rely on KPMG to improve visibility, strengthen risk management, and drive greater efficiency across their organisations.
The team is also helping businesses prepare for the future of digital tax compliance by designing sustainable, technology-enabled, and holistic operating models. What You’ll Be Working On
As a Director in this team, you will lead strategic transformation and technology initiatives for clients ranging from mid-market businesses to FTSE-listed groups, as well as organisations across the public sector, real estate, and financial services.
You will be expected to bring experience across a broad mix of tax, process, and technology disciplines, including:
Deep expertise in tax compliance, automation, and reporting
particularly in indirect taxes
including EMEA compliance
Strong knowledge of end-to-end finance processes
Accounts Payable
Accounts Receivable
Record-to-Report
and how these integrate with tax
Experience advising on tax technology
selecting and shaping solutions to support compliance and reporting
Hands-on tax technology implementation experience
requirements gathering across tax, IT, and user interface needs
drafting and reviewing design documentation
Tax transformation capability
tax governance

Client and engagement leadership experience
Additional Skills That Would Be Valuable
While not essential, the following experience would be advantageous:
ERP implementation experience
Knowledge of data structures, databases, data transmission, and data transformation
Understanding of SQL
Experience analysing large volumes of data
Ability to design cloud-based applications from a tax perspective
Confidence acting as a bridge between technology teams and tax teams, translating functionality and business needs clearly
Key Responsibilities
In this leadership role, you will be responsible for both client delivery and the ongoing development of KPMG’s service offering.
Client Delivery & Transformation Leadership
Lead the end-to-end delivery of tax transformation and tax technology projects
Contribute to wider finance transformation programmes where tax is a critical workstream
Support clients in designing and implementing tax-focused automation solutions
Help clients develop systems that meet tax requirements effectively across multiple jurisdictions
Advise on robust global tax governance and control frameworks
Collaboration & Service Development
Work closely with colleagues across Tax Transformation, GCT, and other KPMG teams such as Consulting
Help develop and enhance KPMG’s service offerings and delivery models
Identify opportunities to broaden client relationships and introduce additional relevant services
Team Leadership
Build and maintain strong, trusted client relationships
Manage the performance of Senior Managers and Managers
Oversee work delivered by offshore teams to ensure high-quality client outcomes
Provide coaching, technical input, and development support to team members
Ensure all work is delivered in line with KPMG best practice and policy
