Ford Motor Company is looking for an accomplished Senior Manager, Indirect Tax Technology to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of its global tax operations. The Opportunity
As the primary link between the Office of Tax Counsel (OTC), IT, and key business functions, you will define and drive the indirect tax technology agenda across the enterprise. You will be instrumental in identifying business needs, translating them into practical technology solutions, and ensuring systems are fit for a rapidly evolving regulatory and digital landscape.
This role is central to ensuring Ford’s tax function remains modern, agile, and equipped to support global operations with robust, scalable, and compliant technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop and deliver a comprehensive indirect tax technology strategy aligned with Ford’s wider business priorities and the mission of the Office of Tax Counsel.
Drive innovation across tax operations by identifying opportunities to modernize and improve systems, tools, and processes.
Support the long-term evolution of the tax function in response to changing business needs and regulatory requirements.
Cross-Functional Partnership
Act as the main liaison between Tax, IT, Finance, Accounting, and relevant skill teams.
Gather, interpret, and translate business and tax technology requirements into clear functional and technical solutions.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment and successful delivery of initiatives.
Technology Implementation & Enhancement
Lead the evaluation, selection, implementation, and ongoing support of indirect tax technology applications.
Oversee tax engines and specialist systems, including platforms such as Vertex, to automate and streamline tax processes.
Continuously optimize existing solutions to improve performance, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
Data Management & Reporting
Oversee tax data management with a strong focus on integrity, consistency, and quality.
Support analysis and reporting by ensuring data is structured, accessible, and reliable.
Promote better decision-making through enhanced tax data visibility and analytics capabilities.
Project Management
Manage the full Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for tax technology projects.
Lead all project stages, including:
requirements gathering
solution design
development
testing
deployment
Ensure projects are delivered successfully, on time, and in line with business expectations.
What We’re Looking For
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in:
Accounting
Finance
Computer Science
Information Systems
or a related field
Established VAT consulting experience
Proven experience acting as a bridge between IT and business teams
Strong knowledge of indirect tax processes and technology-enabled solutions
Experience using and implementing:
ERP systems
Tax engines such as Vertex
Data analytics tools such as Alteryx and Power BI
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax and technical concepts to a wide range of stakeholders
Strong project management and organizational capabilities, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in:
Taxation
Business Administration (MBA)
or a related technical discipline
CPA certification
Experience working within a global multinational corporate environment
Exposure to advanced technologies in a tax setting, such as:
RPA
AI
Machine learning

Location & Working Pattern
This position is based in Dunton. The successful candidate will typically be expected to attend the Dunton office 4 days per week. Flexibility will be required in line with business needs regarding the days worked on-site.
