Join Fonoa and Help Shape the Future of Global Tax Compliance
At Fonoa, we are redefining the way digital-first businesses manage tax compliance across borders. Our modular, API-first solutions are designed to integrate seamlessly into existing workflows, helping businesses reduce manual effort, improve compliance, and lower operational costs as they grow internationally.
We are tackling one of the most significant unresolved challenges in global e-commerce. With Fonoa’s tax automation technology, leading companies such as Uber, Zoom, and Booking.com are able to expand internationally with greater speed, confidence, and compliance.
About the Role
We are looking for an Indirect Tax Tech Transformation Lead to help customers unlock the full value of Fonoa’s solutions and elevate their indirect tax operations.
In this role, you will manage a varied portfolio of customer accounts, partnering closely with both clients and internal teams to drive product adoption, deliver measurable value, and support long-term renewals and expansion opportunities.
You will also play a key part in joint sales initiatives alongside Fonoa and our partners, with a focus on onboarding, implementation project management, and sustained customer success. Your expertise will help customers understand how Fonoa’s platform can be embedded into their indirect tax processes to improve efficiency and create business impact.
This is a newly created role, offering a rare opportunity to be part of building Fonoa’s customer success function from the ground up. As one of the first in this area, you will have the chance to influence strategy, shape best practices, and make a lasting impact.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Driving Adoption and Customer Success
Recommend best practices that support product adoption and usage throughout implementation and beyond.
Guide customers in embedding Fonoa’s indirect tax solutions into their existing processes.
Help maximise engagement so customers achieve long-term success and value from the platform.
Managing and Growing Customer Relationships
Own a portfolio of accounts from onboarding through to renewal.
Monitor account health and proactively ensure customers are on track to achieve desired outcomes.
Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders, including executive sponsors and customer champions.
Maintain high levels of satisfaction, supporting strong NPS and overall customer experience.
Supporting Value Realisation and Growth
Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities that align with customer needs and business goals.
Create customer advocates by developing case studies and cultivating referenceable accounts.
Contribute to increased customer lifetime value through strategic account development.
Leading Successful Implementations
Partner with customers to understand their priorities and align implementation plans accordingly.
Support onboarding and deployment to ensure Fonoa’s solutions are introduced effectively and efficiently.
Coordinate across teams to help deliver a smooth and impactful implementation experience.
Acting as a Voice of the Customer
Capture customer feedback, product requests, and development needs.
Work closely with the Product Team to share actionable insights that influence future product enhancements.
Help bridge the gap between customer requirements and product evolution.
What We’re Looking For
You could be a strong match for this opportunity if you bring a blend of indirect tax knowledge, customer-facing experience, and a passion for technology-driven transformation.
Key Requirements
5+ years of relevant experience in indirect tax process improvement, or equivalent experience within business or industry.
Strong background in indirect tax, including:
Sales and Use Tax
VAT
Corporate indirect tax compliance
Previous experience with or exposure to tax processes and operational assessments.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Prior project management experience is preferred.
What Will Make You Stand Out
A genuine curiosity for technology and a desire to continuously build product and technical expertise, particularly within API-first products.
A demonstrated ability to build strong, collaborative relationships across all levels of an organisation, from day-to-day contacts to C-suite leaders.
A creative and entrepreneurial mindset, paired with a drive to execute with both speed and quality.
Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced scale-up environment, where growth and change are part of the journey.
A calm, adaptable approach to ambiguity, with the ability to see challenges as opportunities.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the confidence to turn complex issues into clear, practical solutions.
Why This Role Matters
This position sits at the intersection of tax, technology, customer strategy, and growth. You will not only help customers transform their indirect tax operations, but also contribute to the development of Fonoa’s wider customer success model.
