Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing UK VAT compliance, including the review of the Group’s quarterly VAT returns

  • Assessing the recent transition to Making Tax Digital for VAT and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency in VAT return preparation

  • Managing global indirect tax compliance by working closely with internal teams and external advisors

  • Responding to day-to-day tax queries from both internal and external stakeholders

  • Monitoring changes in indirect tax legislation and ensuring billing systems are updated where needed to remain compliant

  • Taking ownership of indirect tax balance sheet reconciliations, while helping develop and improve the broader reconciliation process

  • Reviewing and testing VAT controls as part of an ongoing continuous improvement programme

  • Providing tax support on M&A activity and project-based work when required

  • Serving as a main point of contact for external auditors on indirect tax matters

  • Supporting the Group Head of Tax across wider taxation matters, offering the chance to further broaden your expertise

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a qualified tax professional who combines technical capability with strong communication skills and a proactive mindset.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • CTA or ACA qualification

  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills

  • A genuine desire to expand and deepen your tax knowledge through independent research and learning

  • The ability to adapt positively to evolving business priorities and challenges

  • A motivated, resilient, and tenacious attitude

  • Confidence to identify, recommend, and implement process improvements

  • The ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and consistently produce work of a high standard
