The team operates as a national practice, supporting clients across all areas of Indirect Tax, including:
VAT
Customs Duty
Green taxes

About the Trade & Customs Team
This role sits within KPMG’s specialist Trade & Customs team, a large UK-wide network of experts supporting clients with a broad range of customs and international trade matters.
The team includes specialists across areas such as:
Customs valuation
Tariff classification
Rules of origin
Customs special procedures
Collaboration is central to the way the team works. You will partner closely with colleagues across Indirect Tax, Transfer Pricing, International Tax, and the wider Advisory business to deliver practical, high-value solutions for clients.
Services provided by the team include:
Customs advisory support
Compliance reviews
Client training
Duty reclaim preparation
The Opportunity
This is a senior role for an experienced professional who is ready to combine deep technical expertise with commercial leadership, client relationship management, and team development.
As an Indirect Tax Senior Manager, you will play a key role in shaping client outcomes, growing business opportunities, and supporting the continued success of a high-performing and expanding team.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering both technical excellence and commercial impact. Your work will include:
Providing high-quality customs and international trade advice aligned with:
UK legislation
HMRC guidance
Relevant local tax jurisdiction rules, with support from KPMG member firms where needed
Leading and maintaining strong client relationships for the accounts you oversee
Developing innovative and practical solutions that identify:
Customs Duty risks
Efficiency opportunities
Strategic improvements for clients
Managing engagement finances, including:
Project budgets
Commercial performance
Billing and profitable delivery
Supporting business development and marketing initiatives within the team
Coaching and developing junior colleagues from both a:
Technical perspective
Commercial perspective
Working closely with directors and partners, gaining support and exposure that will help you fulfil your potential
Collaborating with specialist teams across:
International Tax
Transfer Pricing
Indirect Tax (VAT)

A relevant professional qualification, such as:
Chartered Tax qualification

International qualification
