The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Personal Tax Assurance / Compliance Manager to join our Private Client Tax Team in Leeds.

In this role, you will take ownership of delivering high-quality tax compliance and assurance services to a varied and interesting portfolio of clients. This includes working with individuals, partnerships, business owners, and trustees, while also building trusted client relationships and supporting the development of junior team members.

We are also keen to hear from Senior Associates or Assistant Managers who are ready to take the next step into a Manager-level role.

Key Responsibilities

As a Private Client Tax Assurance / Compliance Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and delivering personal tax compliance and assurance work for a diverse client base

• Reviewing personal, trust, and partnership tax returns, along with supporting documentation and related forms

• Ensuring clients remain compliant with all relevant tax obligations and deadlines

• Building, maintaining, and strengthening client relationships, acting as a trusted point of contact

• Identifying opportunities to provide additional tax advisory support where appropriate

• Leading, mentoring, and developing junior tax professionals, helping them grow in their careers

• Monitoring work in progress (WIP) and ensuring billing is kept accurate and up to date

What We’re Looking For

To succeed in this position, you will bring a strong personal tax background along with excellent client and team management skills.

Skills & Experience

• At least 5 years’ experience in personal tax compliance or assurance

• A relevant professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent

• Strong understanding of personal tax compliance processes and client service delivery

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proven ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships

• Experience using CCH tax software and Microsoft Office applications
