The Opportunity
As a Private Client Tax Manager in our London team, you will work with a sophisticated and varied client base, including high-net-worth individuals, families, and trusts. You will be involved in a broad range of private client tax matters, with a particular focus on complex and often high-profile cases.
This role offers excellent exposure to international and cross-border tax issues, drawing on the capabilities of our global Baker Tilly network. You will also have the chance to support and lead on advisory and dispute resolution work, while tailoring your role around your strengths and career goals.

What You’ll Be Working On
In this role, you can expect to be involved in a wide range of technical and advisory work, including:
Managing a diverse private client portfolio, including high-net-worth individuals, wealthy families, trusts, and offshore structures
Advising on private client tax matters across UK and international contexts
Handling cross-border tax issues and supporting clients with complex international affairs
Supporting senior colleagues and partners on intricate tax advisory assignments
Overseeing the preparation, review, and submission of annual tax returns for delegated clients
Ensuring compliance with tax legislation and maintaining strong communication with both clients and HMRC
Managing HMRC interventions, including:
s9A enquiries
investigations
voluntary disclosures
Contributing to dispute resolution work, particularly on technically challenging matters
Identifying advisory opportunities and helping expand services to existing and prospective clients
Participating in business development and marketing initiatives
Keeping technical knowledge current through ongoing professional development
Broader Project Exposure
One of the strengths of this opportunity is the breadth of work available. Depending on your experience and interests, you may also gain exposure to projects such as:

tax due diligence
profit extraction
succession planning
International private client matters, including offshore trusts and structures
Inheritance tax planning

Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for an ambitious and commercially aware Private Client Tax professional who is motivated to develop, build lasting client relationships, and progress their career in a supportive and high-performing environment.
This opportunity would suit either:
A professional looking to step into their first Manager-level role, or
An experienced Manager seeking a platform for further growth and progression
You will ideally have:
CTA / ACA / ACCA qualification (or equivalent)
Strong experience in Private Client Tax
A genuine commitment to continuous learning and professional curiosity
Good working knowledge of Excel, Word, and tax software
Strong written and verbal communication skills
The ability to supervise and support junior team members
Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills
Strong client focus and commercial awareness
Effective problem-solving and decision-making ability
The ability to perform well under pressure
A positive, professional approach in all dealings with clients and colleagues
