Senior Tax Manager, EMEA

Join Unity’s Global Tax Team

Unity is looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Tax Manager to join our global tax organization. Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Tax, this role will lead the EMEA tax team and play a key part in managing both direct and indirect tax operations across the region.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a global business by overseeing tax compliance, controversy, financial reporting, process improvement, and automation initiatives throughout EMEA.


What You’ll Be Responsible For

As Senior Tax Manager, you will take ownership of a broad range of regional tax matters while partnering closely with the wider tax and finance teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and review tax compliance activities across EMEA, including:

  • VAT

  • Corporate income tax (CIT)

  • Other recurring tax filings and reporting requirements for regional entities

  • Prepare and review US GAAP tax provision calculations, including:

  • Entity-level tax provisions

  • ASC 450

  • FIN 48

  • Support for local accounting close processes

  • Drive tax process transformation by identifying opportunities for:

  • Standardization

  • Automation

  • Operational efficiency

  • Insourcing where appropriate

  • Partner with the global tax team on strategic initiatives such as:

  • Pillar Two

  • R&D incentives

  • E-invoicing

  • Legal entity rationalization across the region

  • Provide strategic support on tax controversy matters, including:

  • Tax audits

  • Dispute resolution

  • Defense strategies across multiple EMEA jurisdictions


What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a tax leader with deep technical expertise, strong operational capability, and the ability to lead across a complex international environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related discipline

  • Professional qualification such as:

  • Chartered Accountant

  • Chartered Financial Analyst

  • Tax Advisor

  • Or a comparable credential

  • 7+ years of direct and indirect tax experience within:

  • A Big 4 firm, and/or

  • A multinational company

  • 2+ years of people management experience

Technical Expertise

  • Strong working knowledge of:

  • EMEA VAT

  • Corporate income tax (CIT) rules

  • US GAAP tax accounting

  • Local tax accounting requirements

  • Experience preparing or reviewing:

  • US GAAP tax provisions

  • Deferred tax positions

  • Exposure to:

  • Tax controversy

  • Audit defense

  • Multi-jurisdictional EMEA tax matters

Core Capabilities

  • Demonstrated success in identifying and implementing process improvements

  • Direct experience with insourcing initiatives is highly advantageous

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex tax matters to non-tax stakeholders

  • Sound professional judgement, especially around materiality

  • Comfortable using and learning new systems and technologies, including:

  • Workday

  • Microsoft Office

  • Google Suite

  • Alteryx

  • OneSource

  • AI tools

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, develop, and inspire a high-performing team
