The Role

We are looking for a tax professional who can deliver high-quality compliance and advisory services to a broad portfolio of clients. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of client relationships, support senior leadership on complex matters, and contribute to the wider success of the team and practice.

You will manage a portfolio of clients, support Partners on assignments and team matters, and contribute to the development of new business opportunities. The position also includes involvement in ad hoc specialist assignments, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a varied and commercially focused role.


Key Responsibilities

As part of this role, you will be expected to contribute strategically, manage client delivery, and help drive business growth.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the delivery of BDO’s tax strategy, including involvement in tax planning and complex technical matters alongside Partners and Directors

  • Managing a portfolio of clients, ensuring work is delivered efficiently, accurately, and to a high standard

  • Reviewing and delivering final advice to clients with confidence and clarity

  • Identifying and communicating new business opportunities arising from existing and prospective client relationships

  • Building and expanding your internal and external network to generate work and promote cross-selling opportunities

  • Responding proactively to client needs, while anticipating challenges and keeping clients regularly updated

  • Maintaining strong client relationships through consistent communication and excellent service delivery

  • Coaching and developing junior team members, supporting their growth and performance

  • Leading complex or large-scale projects within your area of expertise

  • Finding innovative solutions to technically challenging issues

  • Working closely with stakeholders to achieve strong commercial and client outcomes


What We’re Looking For

We are seeking an individual with strong tax technical expertise, excellent relationship-building skills, and the confidence to manage both clients and projects effectively.

Essential requirements:

  • Strong, up-to-date tax knowledge, including the ability to handle complex tax matters

  • Experience in project and people management

  • A proven ability to manage a substantial client portfolio profitably

  • Commercial awareness, with the ability to identify opportunities to win new clients and grow services with existing clients

  • Experience working with senior client stakeholders and management teams

  • Degree-level education and/or CTA, ACA, or equivalent qualification

  • Demonstrable post-qualification experience
