About the Team
Our **Private Capital Corporate Tax team** works with some of the most exciting entrepreneurial businesses in the market. We support privately owned and private equity-backed companies that are ambitious, dynamic, and often growing at pace.
These clients rely on us to help them manage increasingly complex tax compliance requirements while also advising on key milestones such as growth, restructuring, and succession planning. Our goal is to build trusted, long-term relationships by understanding what matters to our clients both commercially and personally, and helping them achieve it in the most tax-efficient way.
As part of a wider national tax practice, we also collaborate with specialists across corporate and multinational tax, innovation tax, employment taxes, VAT, and real estate. This breadth of expertise allows us to deliver a truly joined-up service as our clients evolve.
The Opportunity
As a **Manager** in our Private Capital Corporate Tax team, you will work with a varied and high-potential client portfolio, ranging from owner-managed businesses to private equity-backed organisations.
This is a role for someone who enjoys combining technical excellence with client relationship management, team leadership, and commercial contribution.
What You’ll Be Doing
Advising clients on a wide range of corporate tax matters, spanning both compliance and advisory work
Managing client relationships and taking an active role in meetings, responding clearly and confidently to queries
Delivering high-quality tax advice with accuracy, commercial awareness, and attention to deadlines
Leading client work from the front, ensuring the right expertise is brought in from across the wider tax team
Supporting and developing junior colleagues, understanding their aspirations and helping them progress
Providing creative and practical solutions to tax issues, both proactively and in response to client needs
Identifying opportunities to introduce clients to broader services across the Grant Thornton network
Contributing to business development, including leading pitches and proposals and building visibility in the market
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you should bring a strong blend of technical corporate tax knowledge, client handling skills, and the confidence to manage a portfolio of entrepreneurial businesses.
Essential Requirements
Professional qualification such as CTA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent
Post-qualification experience in a relevant tax role
Confidence in managing a portfolio of entrepreneurial business clients
Ideally, You’ll Also Have
Strong knowledge of UK corporate tax legislation
A working understanding of international tax concepts
Experience reviewing work and supervising others within a tax environment
Background in a professional services setting
Experience managing a large and varied client portfolio
Demonstrable business development experience
A genuine interest in building deeper knowledge of the firm’s wider services and capabilities
