Join PwC UK in a pivotal role within our Tax Disputes team, where legal expertise and tax technical knowledge come together to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients in the financial services sector.
As a Financial Services Tax Disputes Senior Manager, you will play a leading role in helping clients navigate complex disputes, from the earliest stages of enquiry and investigation through to resolution, whether by negotiated agreement, alternative dispute mechanisms, or court proceedings.
About the Role
Our Tax Disputes lawyers are fully embedded within PwC’s wider tax practice, allowing us to provide clients with a seamless and fully integrated disputes service.
This approach means we support clients across the entire lifecycle of a tax dispute, including:
Initial enquiries and investigations
Strategic dispute management
Negotiated settlements
Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)
Treaty-based solutions
Tax litigation and court proceedings

What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will take ownership of key matters while working closely with a wider team of specialists. Your responsibilities will include:
Managing ongoing disputes and casework on a day-to-day basis
Liaising with HMRC, the Tribunal, and other stakeholders
Supporting and developing client relationships, while also helping build new business connections
Preparing clear, high-quality written advice for clients
Drafting responses to formal correspondence
Instructing Counsel, including:
Preparing Instructions to Counsel
Drafting Notes of Conference/Consultation
Producing key legal and procedural documents, such as:
Directions
Notices of Appeal
Witness statements
Presenting case law developments and technical updates to:
PwC’s Financial Services tax practice
Client events and external forums
What We’re Looking For
This opportunity is ideal for someone who combines legal and technical excellence with strong communication and case management skills.
You will likely be successful in this role if you have:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience in litigation
A strong background in project management and case management
Outstanding technical capability
The ability to work independently and manage responsibilities proactively
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have one of the following:
A Legal Qualification
An international equivalent legal qualification
Equivalent work experience
We also welcome international candidates who have qualified through relevant experience in their home jurisdiction.
