About the Role
Side is a global video game development and services provider supporting many of the world’s largest developers and studios. Reporting to the CFO, the newly created Head of Tax role will lead the Group’s global tax compliance, reporting, transfer pricing and governance agenda, with a focus on minimising the effective tax rate while ensuring robust compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
The position is hands-on and strategic, overseeing corporate tax returns, provisions, VAT/GST and withholding tax compliance, quarterly and annual reporting, and tax risk management. The successful candidate will also own the global transfer pricing framework, maintain OECD-aligned documentation, manage intercompany pricing policies, support audits and enquiries, and work closely with finance and treasury on structuring, funding arrangements and cashflow-related tax matters.
In addition, the Head of Tax will act as the main tax adviser to executive leadership, the parent company and operating entities, partnering with finance, legal and operational teams on commercial initiatives, cross-border transactions and entity simplification. The role also includes managing external tax advisors globally, building relationships with tax authorities, controlling advisory spend and coordinating the global compliance calendar.
Candidates should be CTA, ACA or equivalent qualified with at least 10 years’ experience in international corporate tax, ideally spanning both practice and in-house environments. Side is looking for someone commercially pragmatic, technically strong and comfortable working in a lean, fast-paced international business.
