About the Role

International Tax & Transfer Pricing Manager

Monzo

Location: London, UK (Hybrid)

Salary: £74,000 – £85,000 + performance-based incentive awards + benefits

About Monzo

At Monzo, we’re reimagining banking to make money work for everyone. We’ve moved far beyond our beginnings as a prepaid card provider and spent the last decade building products that genuinely help people manage their financial lives with confidence.

Today, we offer a growing range of services in the UK, including personal and business accounts, joint accounts, teen accounts, children’s accounts, credit cards, savings, investments, and pension consolidation. We’re known for creating standout customer experiences through innovation, simplicity, and support.

Rather than simply selling financial products, we focus on solving real problems and making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an International Tax & Transfer Pricing Manager to join Monzo’s Group Tax team. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Senior Manager to support Monzo’s international growth and take ownership of key areas across direct tax compliance, reporting, and transfer pricing.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant or tax advisor who enjoys working in a fast-moving environment, taking initiative, and operating with a strong degree of autonomy.

What You’ll Be Doing

As part of the Group Tax squad, you’ll play an important role in supporting international tax operations and strategic expansion. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting Pillar Two implementation

  • Provide technical and operational support for the assessment and rollout of the OECD Pillar Two / Global Minimum Tax framework across the group.

  • Driving European tax activity

  • Take ownership of corporate tax and transfer pricing responsibilities linked to Monzo’s expansion into Europe.

  • Managing transfer pricing documentation

  • Support the preparation and maintenance of Local Files and Master Files, ensuring documentation remains compliant with global standards.

  • Overseeing international compliance

  • Manage elements of direct tax compliance and reporting, while contributing to the design and implementation of global transfer pricing policies.

  • Advising internal stakeholders

  • Act as a trusted point of contact for internal teams, helping business areas navigate local tax matters across international markets.

  • Handling broader tax workstreams

  • Manage a portfolio of corporate tax and transfer pricing activities in response to group priorities and evolving business needs.

What We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from you if you bring the following:

  • Professional qualification

  • Qualified accountant and/or tax advisor.

  • Relevant experience

  • A strong grounding in international corporate tax.

  • Previous direct transfer pricing experience is not essential, making this a strong opportunity for:

  • a tax professional making a first move into industry, or

  • someone already in industry looking to build deeper transfer pricing experience.

  • Personal strengths

  • Energetic and proactive approach.

  • Comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-paced setting.

  • Able to manage responsibilities with a good level of independence and autonomy.

Why Join Monzo?

Monzo is a place where ambitious people can do meaningful work, grow quickly, and help shape the future of financial services. You’ll be part of a team that values curiosity, collaboration, and impact.

What’s in it for you

  • £74,000 – £85,000 salary

  • Performance-based incentive awards

  • Hybrid working

  • Based in our London office

  • Open to distributed working within the UK

  • Expected to be in the London office at least once per week

  • Flexible working hours

  • We trust you to work in the way that helps you and your team perform at your best

  • £1,000 annual learning budget

  • For books, courses, training, and conferences

  • Additional benefits

  • Plus a wide range of other perks and benefits

Our Hiring Process

Our application process typically takes around 3–4 weeks, and we’ll always aim to work around your availability.

The process includes 4 stages:

  1. Recruiter call – 30 minutes
  2. Hiring manager interview – 30 minutes
  3. Technical interview & case study – 60 minutes
  4. Behavioural interview – 45 minutes

We’ll close applications once we have enough candidates for the next stage, so we encourage you to apply as early as possible.

A Note on Inclusion

At Monzo, we know that not everyone applies for a role unless they meet every requirement. Research shows this can particularly affect women and people of colour. If this role excites you and you believe you could thrive here, we’d strongly encourage you to apply — even if your experience doesn’t perfectly match every point listed.

We’re committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming workplace where everyone has the opportunity to do their best work and grow.

Equal Opportunities

Monzo is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and consider all candidates fairly, regardless of age, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, family or parental status, national origin, veteran status, neurodiversity, or disability.

If you use a preferred name, please feel free to apply with it — there’s no need to provide your full or birth name at the application stage.
