KPMG is redefining careers within Global Compliance & Transformation (GCT), creating opportunities for ambitious leaders to help clients navigate an increasingly complex tax landscape.
Our GCT team supports multinational organisations and financial services clients in managing their global tax compliance, reporting, and statutory accounting obligations through a combination of outsourcing, co-sourcing, transformation, and technology-enabled solutions.
Clients turn to KPMG for greater visibility, stronger controls, increased efficiency, and better risk management across their tax operations. By combining technical expertise with innovative platforms such as KPMG Digital Gateway, we help organisations build a sustainable and future-ready model for digital compliance.
As demand for these services continues to grow, we are expanding our team. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a high-performing international network and play a key role in an area that is strategically important to both our UK and global business.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
This role offers the chance to work with a broad and diverse client base, ranging from mid-market businesses to FTSE-listed groups, and from the public sector and real estate to financial services.
You will be part of a team delivering impactful, large-scale solutions while collaborating with specialists across KPMG’s wider network of expert teams and delivery centres.
If you are looking for a leadership role where you can combine technical excellence, client relationship management, business development, and team leadership, this position offers the breadth and challenge to match your ambitions.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Director within Tax Managed Services, you will play a central role in driving growth, leading delivery, and building long-term client relationships.

Support clients in improving efficiency across their compliance processes, including enhancing controls and leveraging technology
Lead technical advisory teams in interpreting new legislation and responding to ad hoc client queries
Develop thoughtful, commercially relevant solutions to complex tax and reporting challenges
Engage confidently with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally, while also supporting collaboration across all levels of the team
Identify opportunities for additional services and connect clients with relevant subject matter specialists
Drive business development activity, converting leads into revenue-generating projects and taking ownership of contract negotiation and agreement
Lead teams supporting group and statutory tax reporting requirements, including project management and delivery under US GAAP and IFRS
Coach, mentor, and develop team members, helping to build capability across the wider function
Ensure adherence to KPMG best practice and policy
Maintain a positive, adaptable, and resilient approach in a fast-paced and evolving environment
Act as an effective networker, with the ability to understand client priorities and build trusted relationships
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a leader who is proactive, inquisitive, resilient, and committed to continuous learning. At Director level, you will be expected to combine strong technical credibility with commercial awareness and the ability to lead teams successfully.
You will bring excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the confidence to operate effectively within a professional services environment. A proven track record in client-facing business development and converting opportunities into commercial outcomes will be highly valued.

Strong experience in tax reporting and accounting, which is highly desirable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt style for different audiences and situations
Strong analytical capability, with the ability to assess issues, identify root causes, and develop clear solutions
Excellent attention to detail while maintaining a strong client-service mindset
Proven leadership capability, with the energy and determination to perform under pressure
Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage both your own workload and that of wider teams
Experience providing ongoing coaching, mentoring, and developmental feedback
Ability to foster collaboration and create an environment where different perspectives are valued
Commitment to building KPMG’s reputation through high-quality work, professional knowledge, and strong client delivery
Qualifications
We welcome applications from candidates who are qualified by experience as well as those holding professional qualifications such as ATT, CTA, ACA, or equivalent credentials.
