OMB Corporate Tax Director

Azets is seeking a Corporate Tax Director to provide strategic leadership across a significant client portfolio, combining high-level technical tax expertise with strong commercial awareness. The role centres on advising clients on UK corporate tax matters, ensuring compliance, identifying tax planning opportunities, and acting as a senior relationship lead to deliver excellent client service and long-term value. A major part of the position is business development and portfolio growth. The successful candidate is expected to build and deepen client relationships, identify future client needs, support cross-service-line delivery, and win new work through external networks and internal collaboration. The role also includes contributing to pricing, fee growth, department strategy, and the broader market profile of Azets. The Director will lead people as well as projects, mentoring senior team members, supporting managers, identifying high performers, helping address underperformance, and assisting with recruitment and resource planning. The job also involves fostering a positive team culture, championing Azets’ values and brand, and helping colleagues navigate change while maintaining high professional and ethical standards. Technically, the role requires acting as an engagement lead on a wide range of tax assignments, including complex work with limited partner support, while overseeing quality controls and encouraging innovation and digital transformation within the tax team. Candidates are expected to hold an accountancy and/or tax qualification such as ATT, CTA, ACA, ACCA or CA, or be qualified by experience, with their expertise developed through substantial experience in an accountancy practice.
