About the Role
The Financial Management department at Bank of China is responsible for a wide range of financial functions that include accounting, financial reporting, tax management, and regulatory compliance. As a Senior Associate - Tax, you will play a critical role in managing the bank's direct and indirect tax calculations and returns, ensuring compliance with key UK tax obligations across various entities. This position will require collaboration with external advisors and involve hands-on experience in preparing tax returns, handling HMRC enquiries, and optimizing tax processes.
In this full-time permanent role, you will support the Tax Team in meeting the bank's compliance requirements while actively participating in the continuous improvement of tax governance and data processes. The position demands strong attention to detail and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively within a team and build relationships with stakeholders. Fluency in Mandarin is a desirable but not essential asset, while proficiency in Microsoft Office tools is expected.
Candidates should possess a relevant degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, along with a relevant tax qualification, such as ATT, CTA, ACCA, or ICAEW. Experience in the financial services industry, especially with inbound banks, will be advantageous. Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to enhancing tax operations and controls are crucial for success in this role.
