Join CVS Group, where caring, learning, supporting, and progressing are part of who we are. We are looking for a part-qualified Tax Analyst to become a key member of our in-house tax team in a growing FTSE-listed international business.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain wide-ranging exposure across UK and Australian corporate tax, VAT/GST, and selected employment tax matters, while also contributing to acquisitions, projects, and wider business initiatives.


About the Role

As Tax Analyst, you will work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, supporting the delivery of accurate, timely tax compliance and reporting. You will also collaborate with the wider Tax and Financial Accounts teams, helping ensure strong processes, reliable data, and effective tax support across the organisation.

This role offers excellent breadth, making it ideal for someone looking to further develop their technical tax knowledge within a dynamic international environment.


What You’ll Be Doing

Corporate Tax Compliance

  • Support the preparation of UK and Australian corporation tax returns for approximately 50 group entities

  • Work on a combination of in-house tax return preparation and coordination with external advisers

  • Assist with the preparation of capital allowances claims

  • Analyse fixed asset spend internally and liaise with specialist external advisers where required

  • Prepare:

  • Quarterly instalment tax calculations

  • Group relief calculations

  • Group Payment Arrangement allocations

VAT / GST Compliance

  • Support the preparation of VAT/GST returns across the UK and Australia

  • Prepare EC Sales returns

Employment Tax

  • Assist with preparation of the PAYE Settlement Agreement and the Australian equivalent

Tax Data & Reporting

  • Carry out tax data analysis, including:

  • Reviewing fees for VAT recovery

  • Analysing costs for tax deductibility

  • Support the collection, validation, and analysis of tax data

  • Prepare tax reconciliations between financial reporting and tax filings

  • Maintain and improve:

  • Tax models

  • Trackers

  • Reporting tools


Broader Responsibilities

In addition to core compliance work, you will play an important role in supporting tax-related projects and responding to the evolving needs of the business.

  • Support the Tax Manager and Head of Tax on a range of tax projects, reliefs, and claims

  • Contribute to areas such as:

  • RDEC claims

  • M&A transactions

  • Reviewing due diligence reports

  • Assessing the impact of tax legislation changes on the business

  • Assist in dealing with:

  • UK and Australian tax authorities

  • Auditors

  • External advisers

  • Help manage compliance work outsourced to third-party advisers

  • Respond to tax audit queries and support with tax enquiries

  • Provide assistance on international tax matters, which may include:

  • Country-by-Country reporting

  • Transfer pricing

  • Act as a point of contact for tax-related queries across the business

  • Deliver practical guidance and training to finance and operational teams

  • Support the continuous improvement of:

  • Tax processes

  • Controls

  • Reporting models


What We’re Looking For

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Part CTA/ATT qualified, or equivalent

  • Previous experience in corporate tax and/or VAT

  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines

Desirable, But Not Essential

  • Previous experience in an in-house tax role within industry

  • Experience preparing tax disclosures under IFRS/FRS101

  • Exposure to international tax matters or working in a multinational group

  • Experience using Alpha Tax
