bk plus is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Tax Administrator to join our Birmingham team. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, managing compliance responsibilities, supporting colleagues, and building strong client relationships.

About the Role

As a Senior Tax Administrator, you will play an important role in the smooth running of the tax function. You will be responsible for overseeing compliance processes, managing daily workflow within the tax office, and ensuring key deadlines are achieved. The role also offers the opportunity to act as a trusted point of contact for clients while providing guidance and support to junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing tax compliance work across the department

• Managing the day-to-day workflow of the tax office to ensure deadlines are met

• Preparing and reviewing:

• Self-assessment tax returns

• Corporation tax returns

• Property disposal returns

• Preparing and submitting VAT returns

• Preparing and filing Making Tax Digital quarterly returns

• Corresponding directly with HMRC

• Acting as a key client contact, offering ongoing support and resolving queries efficiently

• Supporting junior team members and reviewing their work

• Assisting senior managers with ad hoc tax matters and queries

We are looking for a candidate who brings strong technical knowledge, organisation, and the confidence to work collaboratively with both clients and colleagues.

Essential Requirements

• Knowledge of UK taxes

• Previous experience preparing and reviewing tax returns

• Strong ability to manage deadlines and prioritise tasks effectively
