About the Opportunity
Join The Association in a pivotal role where you will take the lead on tax and compliance activity across a dynamic and internationally active organisation. This position offers the chance to work closely with both internal teams and external advisers to support strategic business priorities while ensuring compliance across the UK and global jurisdictions.
You will play an important part in shaping tax processes, advising stakeholders, and helping the organisation navigate an evolving regulatory environment with confidence and accuracy.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
As Tax & Compliance Manager, you will oversee a broad range of indirect tax, corporate tax, and compliance-related responsibilities, including:
Preparing and submitting UK VAT returns, EU MOSS returns, and other overseas indirect tax filings
Calculating the annual VAT recovery rate, including extra statutory concession and subscription apportionment methodologies
Compiling annual transaction documentation for external advisers responsible for preparing corporate tax returns, including coordination of supporting information from internal teams
Monitoring sales activity globally and partnering with external tax advisers to evaluate international compliance obligations
Assessing the tax treatment of products and ensuring indirect tax rules are accurately configured within internal systems
Researching tax and compliance issues, documenting conclusions, and producing clear guidance for internal stakeholders
Advising departments across the organisation on tax-related matters and keeping abreast of legislative and regulatory developments
Leading global tax initiatives, including projects such as transfer pricing
Preparing tax expense budgets and forecasts to support financial planning
Completing monthly journals and reconciliations accurately and on time
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a tax professional with strong technical expertise, sound judgement, and the ability to work effectively across a complex international environment.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree
Professional tax or accounting qualification such as CTA or ACA
6+ years’ indirect tax experience
At least 3 years of experience gained within practice
Key Strengths
Strong understanding of indirect tax compliance and reporting
Ability to manage multiple jurisdictions and changing compliance requirements
Confidence in working with external advisers and cross-functional internal teams
Strong analytical and documentation skills
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical issues into practical guidance
