The Opportunity
We are seeking a Tax Manager to take ownership of Mulberry’s global corporate tax compliance while supporting wider group tax reporting activities. This role will also work closely with the Head of Group Tax on VAT, customs compliance, and the ongoing management of tax risk across the business.
This is a hybrid role, with a working pattern of 3 days per week in the office and up to 2 days per week from home.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Corporate Tax Compliance & Reporting
Lead the UK corporate tax compliance calendar and processes, including:
Payments on account
Preparation of tax packs
Coordination with external advisers on annual corporation tax returns
Responding to audit-related queries
Identify and maximise tax efficiencies, including:
Capital allowances
Research & Development tax credits
Tax loss utilisation
Oversee overseas tax advisers to ensure timely completion of international corporate tax returns for group review
Partner with the wider finance team to provide tax cashflow estimates for budgeting and forecasting
Support half-year and year-end tax provisioning and reporting
Manage HMRC correspondence and audits, where required
Transfer Pricing
Interpret and apply OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines across the Mulberry group structure
Prepare and maintain transfer pricing documentation, including:
Masterfile
Local files by territory
Country-specific transfer pricing requirements
Assist with the review of benchmarked returns, transfer pricing adjustments, and intercompany product pricing
Tax Governance & Risk
Contribute to the development of tax policies, systems, and processes, with a focus on HMRC Guidelines for Compliance
Support compliance with Senior Accounting Officer and Corporate Criminal Offences legislation
Develop and maintain robust tax risk prevention procedures
Provide support to the wider business on environmental compliance and reporting, including areas such as:
EU Deforestation Regulations
Plastic Packaging Tax
Additional Areas of Support
Work with the Head of Group Tax on strategic business initiatives
Manage withholding tax claims relating to royalties and interest
Support the customs and compliance team with customs duty and import VAT analysis and reporting

What We’re Looking For
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Strong expertise in direct and indirect tax, backed by a recognised tax qualification
Excellent knowledge of UK tax legislation and guidance, including:
Corporate tax
VAT
PAYE
Customs
HMRC Guidelines for Compliance
Proactive problem-solving skills with a self-motivated approach to learning and development
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain financial and tax matters clearly to non-finance stakeholders
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively and manage workload independently as well as collaboratively
A flexible and adaptable mindset, able to respond quickly and effectively to changing business needs
