About the Role

Tax Specialist / Tax Manager

Join Paddle’s Global Tax Team in London

Paddle is transforming the way digital product companies manage payments.

Rather than forcing businesses to piece together a complicated network of payment providers, tax tools, and compliance services, Paddle operates as a Merchant of Record. This means we take on the complexity of payments and tax compliance, helping customers simplify their infrastructure in a way that is faster, safer, more cost-effective, and far more efficient.

Backed by leading investors including KKR, FTV Capital, Kindred, Notion, and 83North, Paddle supports more than 6,000 software sellers across 245 territories worldwide.

About the Opportunity

We’re looking for a talented tax professional to join Paddle’s expanding Tax team, a function that plays a critical role in the company’s wider commercial and strategic success.

Tax is central to Paddle’s value proposition, making this a highly visible and impactful role within the business. Reporting to a Regional Tax Manager, you will take ownership of a broad range of tax accounting, reporting, and compliance responsibilities across multiple jurisdictions.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working across both direct and indirect tax matters in an international, fast-moving environment. The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise, a high level of autonomy, and the confidence to support stakeholders across the wider business.

Location: London Hybrid working: 1–2 days per week in our London headquarters

What You’ll Be Doing

Your responsibilities will vary depending on your experience and strengths, with an initial focus likely to be on indirect tax compliance and reporting. Over time, there will be scope to broaden the role into a more varied international tax position.

You may be involved in:

  • Preparing indirect tax returns across multiple territories

  • Managing related tax filings, payments, accounting entries, and audits

  • Supporting the preparation of direct tax returns for Paddle entities

  • Handling associated tax payments and journal/accounting entries

  • Assisting with transfer pricing adjustments

  • Supporting R&D tax claims, withholding tax matters, and e-invoicing requirements

  • Contributing to wider tax planning activities

  • Leading or supporting one-off tax projects, such as:

  • New corporate structure setup

  • Registrations in new jurisdictions

  • Responses to ad hoc tax-related customer queries

  • Providing practical tax guidance to internal stakeholders across the business

  • Coordinating with external advisors and agents to ensure timely delivery of tax obligations

  • Monitoring and interpreting global tax policy and legislative developments

What We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from you if you bring a mix of technical tax expertise, strong analytical ability, and the confidence to work independently in a high-growth environment.

Ideal experience and skills:

  • Proven experience in a similar tax role covering:

  • Direct tax

  • Indirect tax

  • Or a combination of both

  • A recognised professional accounting and/or tax qualification

  • Strong understanding of the tax landscape for multinational businesses

  • Experience working with large and complex datasets in:

  • Microsoft Excel

  • Google Sheets

  • Familiarity with tools and systems such as:

  • Microsoft Excel

  • NetSuite

  • SQL

  • Other tax technology platforms

  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work accurately under strict deadlines

  • A proactive, self-motivated approach and comfort working in a fast-paced environment

  • Willingness to work from Paddle’s London office 1–2 days per week

What Success Looks Like in This Role

The ideal person for this position is someone who takes full ownership of their work, from initial analysis through to final review and delivery.

You will thrive here if you are:

  • Highly autonomous and comfortable managing end-to-end tax processes

  • Technically strong in tax law and accounting standards

  • Able to act as a trusted advisor to colleagues across multiple functions

  • Interested in mentoring and supporting team members

  • Motivated by solving complex tax challenges in a global business

Why Join Paddle?

What you can expect:

  • A digital-first working environment with flexibility to work:

  • Remotely

  • From one of our hubs

  • Or through a hybrid approach

  • A transparent, collaborative, and respectful culture

  • Generous holiday allowance

  • 4 months of paid family leave, regardless of gender

  • Ongoing investment in your development through:

  • New and meaningful challenges

  • An annual learning fund

  • Regular internal and external training
