Tax Specialist UK&I

Roche’s Tax Specialist UK&I role sits at the centre of the company’s UK and Ireland tax operations, acting as the technical backbone for compliance, reporting, and operational tax support. The position covers a broad mix of direct and indirect taxes, including Corporation Tax, VAT, Plastic Packaging Tax, and PAYE Settlement Agreements, while coordinating closely with in-house tax teams, shared service centres, and external partners to ensure accurate and timely delivery. The role also has a strong reporting and governance focus. The successful candidate would oversee tax elements of monthly group reporting and annual statutory accounts, manage technical queries and interactions with tax authorities, and help maintain Roche’s tax governance frameworks. In addition, the position supports implementation of global tax policies, including transfer pricing, into local operations across the UK and Ireland. Beyond compliance, the role is designed to add commercial and strategic value. Roche is looking for someone who can turn compliance data into useful insight through tools such as Power BI or Tableau, provide practical tax guidance to business stakeholders, and help forecast tax impacts arising from legislative change. The role also supports tax transformation initiatives, such as adapting to Pillar Two developments and improving ERP and tax technology processes. Roche is seeking a professionally qualified tax or finance specialist, such as CTA, ACA, or ACCA, with strong UK tax knowledge and ideally some Irish tax exposure. The ideal candidate will bring experience from a multinational business or leading professional services firm, along with strong digital, analytical, and communication skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to work independently across both routine compliance cycles and longer-term strategic projects.
